πŸ“± If your phone could only have three apps (excluding essentials like calls and messages), which apps would you keep, and how do they keep you entertained or organized?

There are only two categories of apps I really love

  • direct human 2 human communication like WhatsApp
  • tools I use for a very specific goal and close when that goal is reached like Google Maps or SimpleNote or Contacts
  • music(*)

What I avoid

  • social media / doom scrolling
  • being overwhelmed by automatic notificaitons, aka an external todo lsit

(*) 0-based indexing

Not the most used, but very important:

  • KeePassDroid - I try hard to know as few passwords as possible.
  • AndFTP - Keeps the db for the above synced to my secure ftp.
  • Firefox - where I use the passwords I don't know.

Honourable mentions:

  • Glympse - for keeping the S.O. up to date on arrival times :D
  • A Mastodon Client * TOOTs! πŸ’¨
  • Destiny 2 - handy for the vice

I'm getting more value out of it than I did twitter (though I never used the twitter app.) I find there is better community content for the things I'm interested in. I like how moderation works and the local (the instance you're on), and the wider inter-instance moderation.
I've seen pretty much no bad actors unlike on FB or Twitter. (I think they get filtered out very quickly)
