October already! Oh, my gourdness! And with that, another week, another newsletter. Let's get to it!

Around the Web

  • SWR & Fine Grained Cache Control on Netlify
  • Hacktoberfest – Hard to believe we're already at another Hacktoberfest. Are you participating? I definitely will be. Also, where I work, OpenSauced, we have two repositories open for Hacktoberfest contributions. The app repository and our hot repository.
  • This past year Matt Pocock released ts-reset which is solid, but it also reminded me about Sindre Sorhus' type-fest. Both interesting options if you have a TypeScript project.
  • Turso had their launch week. Plenty of goodies if you're looking into an edge database.
  • If you're tired of CAPTCHAs but need something like this for your app, Cloudflare has you covered with Turnstile. And it even has a great audio option. Accessibility FTW.

Fun Stuff

This one made me snort.

Chuck Norris once took two days off from school. It's now called the weekend.

Words of Wisdom for the Week

This is reminder that it’s ok to ask for help no matter how good you are at your job. It doesn’t reflect poorly on you.

Shameless Plugs

This week, I got to hang out with Aditya Oberai from Appwrite. We had some fun digging in to Appwrite functions. Here's a highlight.

The full recording will be dropping on YouTube next week.

Jobs

I post jobs in the iamdeveloper.com community, plus all other kinds of content, as do others. If you're looking for another friendly nook of the internet, head to discord.iamdeveloper.com.
