Epic list here!! I'm lovin' how rock'n'roll your picks are!
I'm especially loving Brenda Lee's Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree right now β I had never seen this music video and it's awesome. Seeing her here, she reminds me so much of my wife's grandma (Magic) who just recently passed. Brenda Lee may be getting a little older, but she's still got some moves! π
Most of the music in December is about Christmasβ¦ Brenda Lee has some impressive moves. I am sorry about your wifeβs grandma passing away. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season with your family.
My wife and I have been listening to as many obscure Christmas songs on Spotify as we can find. A couple of particularly interesting highlights: "Santa Mouse" by Bob Morrison, "I am Santa Claus" by Bob Rivers, and I'll throw in "Santa's Laugh" by some guy named Monty Harper.
I just listened to Santa's Laugh and it's great. Kinda has a reggae feel to it to me which is a fun twist
hahahoho!By the way, I dropped a couple of my own originals elsewhere in thread... well kinda originals. I heavily sampled Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" but still, the lofi beat I made around it all is my doing.
Thanks, Michael! I'll check out your White Christmas track. If you're interested in the playlist, here's the link - it's 12 hours long, and not all obscure songs, but it's a great list! open.spotify.com/playlist/6xTg58ZM...
Haha! Who is this Monty Harper guy anyway?
But forreal, I'm loving the search for obscure Christmas Songs, haha... that's a great twist. I'll absolutely check'em all out... we still got our decorations up so Christmas ain't over yet.
You can literally never go wrong when it comes to Christmas music with Michael Buble's collection. Honestly my favorite out of any Christmas playlist, and it's been on nonstop for the past few days while the fam's been doing stuff like decorating our tree and cooking. Bonus points for the deluxe anniversary edition.
Merry Christmas, everybody! βοΈ
Agreed! Michael BublΓ© has some great Christmas tunes. Good shoutout, Dominic, and merry belated Christmas to ya!
Iβm a little late on this, but I made a lofi hip hop version of Bing Crosbyβs βWhite Christmasβ over break using a Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator (PO-33 sampler) and my Moog Grandmother (synth).
Here are two versions of it for y'all:
Really, I think itβs still a work in progress, but since Christmas is already over, I think it's past time to put a bow on it. π
In any case, hope y'all enjoy! π
Haven't been listening to anything, but have learned Jingle Bells on piano to play for my family on Chrimstas
Nice!! I realized I need to learn some Christmas tunes when I brought my guitar to a family get together for Christmas Eve Eve (a family tradition, we celebrate all together the eve before Christmas Eve).
Anyway, I got Blue Christmas up my sleeve but that's about the only xmas tune I know right now... I need more sing-alongs and Jingle Bells would be a good one!
Stevie Wonder
Oh yeah!! Stevie is the best... "What Christmas Means to Me" is one of my fave Christmas songs I think.
