State of CSS 2022, js13kGames 2022 winners, Edge 106, Polypane 11, Vivaldi 5.5, and more | Front End News #078

The 2022 edition of the State of CSS survey is open. We have the winners of the js13kGames 2022 contest. In browser news, we got Edge 106, Polypane 11, and Vivaldi 5.5 for the desktop. The software updates include Axios v1.0.0, Bootstrap 5.2.2, and more. And the resources of the week are a mix of utilities, templates, and icons.


State of CSS

The fourth edition of the State of CSS survey is open until October 20. This is your chance to make your voice heard by both the browser makers and the people working on standards.


js13kGames 2022 winners

js13kGames is a very interesting coding challenge, where people are invited to create games with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. And the entire code must compress under 13KB. The theme of the 2022 edition was "Death" and the experts have decided on the winners.


Browser news

Edge

Edge 106 has been released with the usual obscure release notes. This update brings more reliable web defenses, as well as fixes for various bugs and performance issues.

Polypane

Polypane, the browser for developers, evolved to version 11. This update brings a JSON viewer, new accessibility features, Chromium 106, and a lot more.

Vivaldi

Vivaldi has released version 5.5 for desktop users. This update brings a Tasks Panel, which integrates with the built-in Calendar. Windows 11 users can use the Snap functionality to position the browser window on the desktop. And many more bug fixes, improvements, and fine-tuning.

WebKit

Safari Technology Preview 155 is available for all users running macOS Monterey 12.3 or later and macOS Ventura beta.
