What is Kanban

The Kanban method was pioneered by Toyota in the 1950s as a way to implement "just-in-time manufacturing" and later adapted as an agile method to manage software development.

Kanbans are wonderful ways to visually track work in progress, tasks that need to get done, and what you've accomplished throughout time. There are countless of applications that have been developed over the times that help you with this time-management method as well. Some are Asana, ClickUp, Zoho Projects, monday.com, Celoxis, and many more. The two most popular apps you may be Trello and Jira Software.

Trello

Trello supplies you with Trello boards, lists, and cards. You can locate your favorite templates to use or create your own, expand your boards with features/extensions while managing projects, tasks, and building team spirit through your project sprints. Each card contains all the information you need and can be set to automate through the hours, days, and/or weeks as you need with Trello's built-in automation, Butler.

Trello has a free, standard, premium, and enterprise level for pricing. The standard is $5/month, premium is $10/month and enterprise is $17.50/month. Check their current prices here.

Jira

With Jira Software, you are given access to boards, project releases, workflows, product roadmaps, and more. You're able to ensure that your roadmap connects with your entire team's work with Jira Software Cloud. Your team has access to more than a dozen out-of-the-box reports with real-time, actionable insights into how their team is performing sprint over sprint. Jira's automation also allows you to save time during your project timeline and increase productivity in the long run.
