At this point, you’ve probably stumbled upon one of those sites who aggregate design talent by a common attribute they share. In many cases, the goal of those repositories is to provide more visibility to the work of people who are not top of mind when it comes to finding design talent:

There was one group that we felt deserved its own home: our fellow Brazilian designers.

Brazilians Who Design is a place to showcase the work of talented Brazilian designers to the world. The goal is to inspire new designers to diversify their references, experienced designers to diversity their network, and companies to diversify their teams.

If you know a Brazilian designer whose work is unique and worth sharing with the world, please fill out this form to nominate them to be featured on the platform.

  • We are prioritizing designers who have shared their work online (on a portfolio, Instagram, Behance, etc.).
  • We decided not to collect or display the designer’s photo; we wanted our platform to be less about what someone looks like and more about how they’re creating work that’s unique and with high standards.
  • We also decided to strive for gender balance on BWD. If you recommended a designer who identifies as a man and it’s taking too long to show up on the website, try now nominating a designer who identifies as a woman or non-binary.

You will notice that every time you refresh the website, we feature a different Brazilian artist in the top right corner. We wanted to showcase not only contemporary Brazilian design, but also celebrate the history of design in our home country.

Brazilians Who Design was designed and built by Zeh Fernandes, directed and curated by me, on top of the tech stack that Jules Forrest kindly made available on Github after building Women Who Design. Thanks to Caio Braga, Rafael Frota, Karina Sirqueira, Al Lucca, Bruno Oyama, Fabio Sasso, Daniel Furtado, Rodrigo Muniz, Lucas Falcão, for the help of gathering the initial list of designers.

Hope you enjoy:
