I listen at 1.5x-2x speed with the silence cut out, and I also skip a lot of the interview-y podcasts - unless I really care, or have never heard about the subject.

I launched a site called onepodcast.xyz that will send out 1 episode, 1x week! It gets a little crazy finding new podcasts sometimes, by signing up to the newsletter you'll get a new episode delivered weekly with no work.
onePodcast will allow folks to discover podcasts on a weekly basis from small to large creators.

I see many people listen to all the great developer podcasts. I find it's hard to listen to them while working because they take some concentration (except Front End Happy Hour which is all light and fluffy and doesn't require concentration :) )
I'm of big fan of Revisionist History by Malcolm Gladwell, he hasn't put any out recently, but if you haven't heard his stuff, it's "History", so still timely.
Also Brain Food podcast sometimes.

Joe Rogan (and his podcast) very directly resulted in one of my best friends getting death threats for months, so I recoil every time I see him on any suggested list. Here's what I've been listening to:
That is unfortunate and I hope none of them materialized. I wouldn't rule Joe's podcast out completely though. Some of his guests are really engaging and informative when they get to his long form casual platform, and you get a full picture of them that you can't get through the normal mediums.
Thanks but honestly if I'm interested in any of his guests I'll find a way to get information that doesn't reward his toxicity with my clicks or listens.

Rogan has been great for long drives, makes the miles fly by. The only complaint is he will often go down a UFC rabbit hole talking about things that I can't find interesting, but the good outweighs everything.
I just finished "Worm: Audiobook Project" that is distributed as a podcast: audioworm.rein-online.org/ Cool story about superpower in the real world. Kind of like Heros but where people can say fuck.
If you're on android, podcast addict can be easily set up to skip the intro/outro that every episode has.
Fave at the minute is the triforce podcast. 3 (pyrionflax, sips and Lewis) 35+ reasonably famous grumpy old gamers talking absolute tosh for a hour each week. Genuinely look forward to it tbh. Nothing Dev related mind you just fun to listen to.
The Charlie Rocket Show is a very inspirational podcast about a successful music producer (2 Chainz, Travis Porter) lost 100+lb and did an iron man. He is has a sort of energy that is hard to describe, but it always makes me feel like I can I do anything. I highly recommend the I'm on a winning streak episode if you're curious.
My favorite podcasts are Meathead Hippie, The Ed Mylett Show, Armchair Expert, And Especially You, Joe Rogan Experience, and for any other pro wrestling fans out there...I love Chasing Glory and Something to Wrestle With.

For the last couple of days, purely by coincidence because that's the way their publication schedule works, it's been mostly sports podcasts:
that last one is worth a listen for normal people too, not just LGBTQALPHABETSOUPs, as the people they interview are worth listening to anyway.
