The numbers are binary. From the rightmost bit to the leftmost, you add the numbers up in powers of 2 given the position of the number (starting with 0) as the exponent.
0110 = (0 * 2^3 ) + (1 * 2^2 ) + (1 * 2^1 ) + (0 * 2^0 ) = 0 + 4 + 2 + 0 = 6
So 0110 = 6, 0111 = 7, 1000 = 8, and 1001 = 9.
