Learn how to store your NFTs on the cloud with echoAR and show them in AR to your friends!
NFTs (short for “non-fungible tokens”) are all the rage right now! These unique virtual collectibles, which ownership is recorded using blockchain, are increasing in popularity, as the virtual world grows increasingly more interactive. While blockchain allows you to establish and enforce your rights in these digital assets, augmented reality (AR) is a great tool to allow you to present and showcase your NFT to others.
Given that NFTs are unique and not interchangeable (as opposed to “fungible tokens” which are interchangeable, indistinguishable and freely exchangeable), they present new opportunities for collectors, artists, gamers, and even fashion designers (think one-of-a-kind digital artwork, trading cards, character skins, avatars, and more!). These NFTs avoid the risk of being stolen or copied because each token can be traced back to its individual owner with a unique identifier and they can even be sold to others for a hefty price. But the majority of NFTs exist solely in the virtual world. This makes AR a perfect tool to bring them to life! Here’s a step-by-step guide to how to store your NFTs and how to see and share them in AR:
You can store your NFT with echoAR by following these steps:
- Step 1: 🔑 Register for free
Register for FREE at echoAR and get your own API key (also check your inbox for an automatic email with your key).
- Step 2:💻 Access the console
Upon registration you will be redirected to the console or you can use the link in the registration email to get back to the console anytime. Make sure your key is set in the header or type and load it yourself.
- Step 3: 🎲 Upload your NFT to the console
You can upload your NTF from local storage by clicking the “Add To Cloud” button.

You can instantly see a 3D representation of your NFT in AR through your phone with using any of these options (all options are available here):
Step 1: Click on the “[ ]” icon to generate and show the QR codes. Make sure the “See on the floor” tab is selected.
Step 2: Scan the QR code with your phone’s camera app or with a QR reader app, click the pop-up message to get redirected to our website, and then click the “See in AR” button.
Step 3: Move the phone around until it detects the surface around you and tap the screen to place the 3D model of your NFT on the floor around you. You can scale the model by pinching the screen with two fingers.

Step 1: Click on the “[ ]” icon to generate a QR code. Choose the “See on an Image” tab to show a QR code that can be detected by the camera.
Step 2: Scan the QR code with your phone’s camera app or with a QR reader app, click the pop-up message to get redirected to our website. Your camera should open in the browser (you might need to allow camera access. Troubleshoot camera issues here)
Step 3: Keep your camera pointed to the QR code to see the 3D model appear on top of the QR code.

You can instantly share a 3D representation of your NFT and allow others to see them in AR through their phone by:
Step 1: Click the “share” icon and generate a short link (which is automatically copied to your clipboard and should look something like https://go.echoAR.xyz/ABCD)
Step 2: Share the link directly through WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Reddit, OR paste the link and send it to friends via other social media or text.
- Step 3: After sharing the link, others can access the 3D representation of your NFT and even scan a QR code for easy access. Clicking the short link redirects to our website where they can click the “See in AR” button to place the 3D model of the NFT on the floor around them.
