It was a really tough week. I developed a sudden case of mastitis and simply could not shake a fever for about 12 hours. I really thought antibiotics would cure me immediately but I'm still feeling really crappy several days in. Anyway, MY WIN is that we were still able to launch DEV Challenges on Product Hunt yesterday, and that I still got most of the 'must haves' done this week. I'm also hosting family at my house for my baby's 1yo birthday this weekend so I'm looking forward to that even if I'm not fully myself yet!
I sent my first email to my newsletter subscribers (around 20 people) I took me a bit of hesitation to start it. I sent 5 links I found worth sharing from the past weeks.

Successfully installed Arch Linux on my PC (along with some annoying driver configuration), reconfigured i3 and picom a little bit, and I'm starting to move my Neovim config plugin manager from packer to lazy.nvim. Fun week.
In tech, I reached a kind of milestone in a game I'm making in Godot - you can now actually play it even if it's incomplete and pointless. You can move the player around and get points for things. I've re-written it a few times and learnt more each time and am committed to finishing it before moving on to more tempting ideas!
Outside of these walls I scrapped my car due to it being unbelievably not carworthy and was expecting to spend ages trying to get a replacement... but I ended up buying the second car I went to look at, which means I don't have to waste time and money on buses and taxis and so on during the search, and it also means I got something I really like.
Can you provide me some useful roadmaps for Learning Godot, since I am new to this.
Almost everything I've learnt so far has been from the official docs (and built-in help) and from watching Youtube videos from Brackeys and GDQuest who're both really accessible and have well-paced tutorials.

My back is finally healing, and the daily "forced" sauna is a nice touch to finish the day. Can't wait to be back in the water and catch some waves.

Extension | OS (github.com/albertocubeddu/extensionos), has got 16 ⭐'s on GitHub, 5 new releases 📆 and so much feedback that the roadmap is as long as the way to Rome 🤌 🇮🇹

It's not just frustrating; it's demoralising. And when you finally do get the opportunity to talk to someone, you're often unprepared. After all, you've probably spent countless hours quietly searching for a job, sending out hundreds of resumes and cover letters that never received a response.
Sure, this process might sharpen your writing skills, but we all know that when you’re sitting across from an interviewer, it’s your ability to speak that really counts.
That’s where Skill Society steps in. Our platform enables hiring managers to gain a deeper understanding of candidates beyond just a resume, without the need for them to personally conduct phone interviews. For candidates, it’s an opportunity to continuously improve and prepare, especially since we all know the questions for the same role tend to be quite similar. I recently conducted a presentation and workshop for my team on "thin vertical slice" development. I also wrote an article, Breaking the Horizontal Habit that provides a high-level overview of this concept.
After reconvening with my team today, I am pleased to leaps and bounds forward in our approach to achieving our Sprint goal. Until now, we had stumbled with each step towards completing our Sprint goals within the Sprint timebox. However, this week, my team embraced the "thin vertical slice" methodology, and as a result, we successfully completed three thin vertical slices that collectively formed a full feature, allowing us to meet our Sprint goal for the first time!
I have been fixing bugs in Github.
I discover Markdown and plan to use it in future projects.

I've finally released my project after four months of intensive work: Anyquery, a SQL query engine for anything (GitHub, Parquet, Todoist, Google Sheets, etc.)
It was a lot of doubts about feasibility, but in the end, I succeeded in releasing it.
