It’s inspiring to see people doing what they love for so long!
Daniel seems to dedicate an awful amount of time to cURL, IMHO. However, he seems to enjoy it, so as long as it’s not harmful to your life somehow, it’s ok, I think. I don’t know if I’d have this tenacity.
The Basics
Thorsten Ball summarized a lot of good points when it comes to programming and being professional.
I like to think of them as the programmer’s commandments:
My favorite? “Make it a goal that people want to work with you”. There’s nothing better than working with people that you respect and get inspired by!
I’d augment the list with: do not follow instructions blindly, be curious.
Inheritance gone wrong
The most hilarious example I’ve ever seen of why you shouldn’t abuse using inheritance when programming on an object-oriented language. Now I know what to point people to when arguing about that hahaha.
