Cheaper, Smaller Raspberry Pi 3 Announced

Announcement from Raspberry Pi blog

TL;DR: you can now get the 1.4GHz clock speed, 5GHz wireless networking and improved thermals of Raspberry Pi 3B+ in a smaller form factor, and at the smaller price of $25. Meet the Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+.

Just got my Raspberry Pi Model B+ and then this? I've been using raspberry pi for my side projects since I'm a student and until now I'm still amaze how powerful it is. Still a newbie tho. Share your projects here at Dev.to! :)

Where'd you manage to buy one? I've only seen them being sold for 4kphp+ and that's a pretty steep markup for a $30 item.

Wow! That's indeed high. I usually found them usually flying at β‚±2000 - β‚±3000 here at Metro Manila. Have you consider looking online? I usually take a peek at the prices here.

I need to get a raspberry PI. Seems like a fun thing to tinker with.

As software developers, we have access to incredibly powerful machines that run in the cloud.

But sometimes it’s better for the machine to run in your living room or office.

And sometimes two less powerful machines are better than one more powerful. Physical hardware is fun, and also teaches us a lot about computers along the way.

I say this as someone who has typically been too lazy to see hardware projects all the way through. But they are still really worthwhile things to have around.

I got the B+ on sale for ~$20 a few months ago.. of course this would happen before I even had the chance to use my it.

Well living in New York you’ve probably spent $20 too much for dinner a few times, so you can shake this off. πŸ˜…

The Pi Zero is really cool if you're looking for a REALLY small form factor.

If you like Arduino too I have been excited by Adafruit's feather!

Nice! I am planning to buy a Raspberry Pi someday after getting some time to be familiar with the electronics/hardware stuff. Big time deal as a student, too. Thanks for sharing it here!
