For the last month or so, I’ve been really active, posting at least thrice every week and gaining 500 followers in a month.
But now I’ve just lost the enthusiasm to continue posting.

The first point I'd address is the numbers.
Whenever you do something just to see the followers/subs/likes number increase you're doing it for the wrong reason (unless you have a well developed business plan that requires so).
That's one keystone of this platform, that doesn't show the number of followers we have.
I am saying this because even having a huge number of followers here -no flex intended-, showing "the number" lowers criticism while promoting toxicity and herd mentality, just like it happen in every other platform (Twitter, Tik-Tok, Reddit etc etc etc, even in Youtube to a certain extent).
In fact, if this platform (dev.to) starts to show this numbers I'll just leave in search for greener pastures.
Aside from that, I can say that posting or not posting is a matter of how you feel like. I can take 5/6 months without posting anything and I learnt not to feel bad for it. It's something that I do for hobby or to share/help with the community, not my job
Sometimes it's maybe because I want to post about something but I haven't enough time (the 4/5 drafts I currently accumulate are proof of it) or maybe because I just got other things to do, either being chilling around, taking care of my family or learning something new that requires some time.
I love helping people in the community and sharing thoughts and knowledge, sometimes I do it in Discord channels, others here. I honestly believe that I have few things worth publishing and I'll do, but I'll do it when I feel like and not before (no pressure).
I'd suggest you the same I suggested to @shubhamtiwari909 time ago, that if you really want to keep posting, you can use it as your personal learning diary.
This benefits you in different ways:
We all have ups and downs, just try to keep the average above the line! 😃
I was busy writing a similar comment but had to do something else. Came back to your comment and honestly, I couldn't have said this any better. I feel like looking at the numbers will almost always cause you to feel sad. It's similar to having money. You will never have enough!
3rd point - going back to your own posts to remember things easily
This thing i am doing for a long time
Because sometimes I get some ready code snippet on my blogs which I can use in my projects 😂
this is such a helpful comment! thank you so much!
Followers and Views have nothing to do with this because I have around 4000 followers with around 178k views total and i am a Jr. Web Developer but still i am learning from seniors and Tutorials online
I think the only thing we need to Write blogs is having curiosity about New things , technologies, Concepts, etc
Currently I am curious About a Project of Creating a Cloud Storage WebApp for Images like Google drive but mini version
This Project alone can help me to learn and put new concepts in my project and also it is enough to make me busy and excited for 1 month at least
That’s cool! Yea I agree with the follower point
Enthusiasm comes and goes. I had 9 months off from writing anything before I even started posting on here.
When I feel it’s getting stale I’ll try switching it up a bit. I had written a lot about my own personal experiences and just waffled on for most of my posts, so lately I’ve challenged myself to write more tutorial or fact based material. It’s WAY harder 😅 but the challenge has got me going again!
Tbh it’s made me post less frequently, but that’s because a lot more work goes into a single post. But I feel like each one is more valuable both by itself and for me cos I’m learning a lot from doing them.
Writing should be for your benefit, just figure out a new way to get something else out of it. You’ll soon pick up the pace again.
thanks for the advice!
What? No!!! That’s not good! Maybe do what I did! I took a week off from Replit, didn’t post, comment, or do anything. I barely even signed in! It really helped and now I’m back and happy again!!!
i like reading posts, just not making my own lmao
Yeah, i just did nothing in terms of talking w people but i read!
You should take a little break and get back into it whenever you feel like it! It's okay to not post for a while. It's okay to do it in your own pace, as long as it keeps it fun.
thanks for the advice!
It's perfectly valid to take some time. Take a break for a while.
yeah ig
