Regex for Verifying Email Address

The fully RFC 822 complaint regex is too complex to use, here are some simplified regex to do that.

  1. Regex from Ruby on Rails Tutorial (by Macheal Hartl) 
VALID_EMAIL_REGEX = /\A[\w+\-.]+@[a-z\d\-.]+\.[a-z]+\z/i

But the author gave us a symbol which is invalid but passed it

"foo bar"@example.com
