How to Turn On Visualization Effects in VLC?
To turn visualizations on in VLC Media Player, do as follows.
- First, you need to launch the VLC Media Player program on your PC.
- Click on the Audio tab , select Visualizations from the menu, and select a visualization option as you wish.
- VLC provide some default visualization effects such as Spectrometer , Scope , Spectrum , Vu Meter , Goom and ProjectM.
- Every effect has its own style. You can switch between them and select the one you want.
Note: The Visualization options are disabled by default. When you play an audio or video on your VLC, then it will be enabled automatically.
- For instance, here, we select the Spectrometer option.
- Alternatively, you can also select visualizations by right-clicking while your audio is being played.
- It will display the right-click menu , you have to click Audio -> Visualizations -> select a visualization effect as you need.
- After that, you will see the selected visualization effect on your VLC screen as shown below.

Scope Effect:
Scope effect the second one in the list of audio visualizations. You can enable this effect by choosing the “ Scope ” effect. Spectrum Effect:
You can see the spectrum effect placed below the scope effect. You can enable this effect by choosing the “ Spectrum ” effect. It appears to be like number yellow and green color graphs with small beats jumping on the top of the bars vibing along with the music playing in the VLC.
VU meter Effect:
You can enable this effect by choosing the “ VU meter ” effect from the list of the visualizations in the VLC player. This effect contains two meters having the colors “ Green, Orange” as the Gauge and Purple color as the Gauge needle. You can find the screenshot below.
Groom Effect:

ProjectM Effect:

Steps to Turn Off Visualizations in VLC
Kindly use the following instructions to turn off the visualization effect in the VLC player.
- You need to *launch the * VLC Media Player.
- Under the Audio tab , click Visualizations , and *select * the *Disable * option from the sub-menu.
- In this manner, you can easily switch off the visualization effect on VLC.
