Do you know there is a new feature on Twitter called the Twitter Spaces? released late November 2020 and has since then been the talk of Twitter and a new tool for talk gathering and meetups which doesn't require visuals.

This feature is only available for now on iOS and Android phones, and this article will only cover the guide for Android users, as I do not have access to an iPhone.
Let's begin the ride to create your own space.
1. Update your Twitter application
To start using the Twitter Spaces feature on your android phone you have to ensure that your Twitter application is up to date as the new feature is only available on the updated version of Twitter.
Head to Google play store, and search for Twitter then check if there is an update for your Twitter application.
2. Finding a Twitter Space
You can start by joining someone's space to hear out what conversation they have ongoing.
if any of the people you're following are holding a talk on Twitter space, you will automatically see their space at the top section of Fleet
You can click on the icon👆🏻 to join their space
3. Locating the Twitter Spaces feature
To get started with Twitter Spaces on your android phone, locate and click on the + icon at the bottom right of your android application.
Select spaces from the drop-up
Let's refuel our ship
4. Creating your personal space
To create your own personal live audio conversation space on Twitter, click on the *spaces * icon as shown above up ☝🏼.
You will be prompted to give a name to your space, this is how people you're inviting will get to know what your space is all about.
Click on start your space after naming your space 😅
Wait for some seconds for it to connect.
After your space has been connected, you should have something like this 👇🏼
Now you are a host of a whole space and can proceed to send invites to people to join your space as the host💃
By default, everyone joining your space are labeled a Listener because they do not have permission to speak on the space, while people who are given permission to speak by the host of the space are labeled a Speaker
5. Inviting People To your Twitter Space
You actually won't be creating a space for yourself alone, you will need people to talk with or people that will listen to you while sipping their coffee.
Below 👇🏼 are guides on how to invite people to join your space.
** Click on the share icon (the last icon) 👇🏼**
Choose your preferred invite option 👇🏼
- You can choose to invite people directly from their Twitter Direct Message
- You can tweet the invitation link on your Twitter feed or
- You can copy and paste the link with a custom message to other platforms (Whatsapp, Facebook, or Instagram) that you might want to invite people from.
You will receive the same link when you are been invited to join a space, click the link, and boom you're in SPACE. 👩🚀
For now, all Spaces are public like Tweets, which means they can be accessed by anyone. They will automatically appear at the top of your Home timeline, where you see Fleets.
6. Start Speaking
People will join your space with the intention to hear what you have to talk about, in order to start talking to your guest, click the audio icon on the left side of your screen 👇🏼, and everyone in your space will be able to hear your voice.
7. Adding a Speaker
Sometimes you want people to contribute to your talk or you want a guest to talk, below 👇🏼 is a guide to change their role from a Listener to a Speaker.
Click on the people icon (the second icon) 👇🏼.
Click on the add speakers button 👇🏼.
A list of listeners on your space will be displayed and you can select those you want to change to a speaker
8. Reacting with an emoji
Since by default people joining your space are listeners without permission to talk and the maximum number of allowed speakers is 10, how do they react, or how do you confirm if you are carrying people along, and how do these people respond to what you're saying?
THEY CAN USE REACT 😂
Honestly, they can use react, Twitter has an option to react with an emoji 😜, and to react with an emoji click on the heart with a plus icon (third icon) 👇🏼
Select from the available emojis provided by Twitter, there are only 5 available emojis at the time of writing this article, more can be provided later, who knows? 🤷♂️ Jack!!!😆
The emoji you reacted with, will appear on your profile picture and fade away in a few seconds as shown below 👇🏼, don't worry, you can drop more anytime.
9. Enable Caption
If for some reason you have difficulty in hearing what the speaker is saying, you can enable the view caption option, and you will be able to read the text of what the speaker is saying on your screen. 😱
click on the first icon from the right👇🏼
Mark the View Caption box👇🏼
Now you can read what the speaker is saying, isn't that 😎
10. Ending a Space
After you are done with your talk and it's time to end the *space * meeting for all, click the ** End ** located at the top right of your screen, and that's it 👇🏼.
Wow, we just completed a *SPACE * journey, I hope you enjoyed the ride 🙏.
