Contribute consistently

Yes, you can write articles on your opinions of apps, showing off your latest developments, and asking for help from the community. This platform is a wonderful place to do all of those things. But in order to get your post displayed on top of the others, you need to be a giver.

This means writing articles on road maps, "how-to"s, tips and tricks, making tutorials/step-by-steps, etc. Because this is not only a platform to grow your network but one to learn from the community, stand out by being one of the people who helps as much as you can.

Table of Contents and Headings

The table of contents allows your readers to know the highlights of your article upfront. The headings help break up your article into smaller digestible portions.

Fill in the blanks

Do your best to exclude abbreviations and acronyms you have not defined yourself within the article. Everyone is has different knowledge levels on this platform. This is also why links to definitions, extra resources, articles, etc. are always significantly helpful to readers.

One way to add extra links is to include a "helpful links" section at the end of your article. This way you will not have a sea of blue links cluttering your article.

Create a publication schedule

Depending on the amount of content you have ready and the amount of time you want to spend writing, plan to publish on a regular schedule. For example, every Tuesday and Thursday around 10 am EST. The consistent time will give you an engagement advantage and will make it known that you are a regular contributor. People will know that they can follow you and expect to hear from you.

But remember to not only post. Also set aside time to engage with the community. This means commenting on others' posts, responding to people comments on yours, reading articles, etc. As your following and presence grows, your views and comments will too.

Make a series

Series are great for topics with different parts. But do not use this as an opportunity to force readers to click through in order to read the rest of an article. That is a big don't!

Conclusion

Although there are many ways to get more traffic on your profile and articles, including sharing them on social media, creating high quality content is the best route to take. And remaining consistent is key, as it is in everything else in life.

Do you have any tips you would like to add to the list? Leave them in the comments below.

Happy coding!
