Another year of contributing to Hacktoberfest !

πŸ‘‹πŸΌ Hello world friend !

My name is Thomas, I'm 22 years old at the moment, I like to participate to Open Source projects and help people with my web dev skills.

πŸ‘€ Background

In 2015, I signed up on GitHub and I really didn't think that I would contribute one day. I was using the platform as a cloud for my private projects. Now I use it for a lot more things, like obviously versioning but also to keep everything in order, and then there are GitHub Actions that can be useful, so it's always cool to have that ! πŸ˜„πŸ’š

My GitHub inscription

Now I'm participating in some projects when I can. I'm always willing to help out, even if it's a small thing, it makes me happy πŸŽ‰

I can help on different aspects of a project, front-end, French translation or accessibility (I have to improve in it).

At the moment, I'm working on VueJS and NuxtJs. I also released my website a few months ago. β˜•πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

πŸ” Progress

Where am I now? I've already surpassed the 4 Pull Request (PR) goal, but my goal is to do more and continue in the following weeks. πŸ˜„πŸ’ͺ🏼

πŸ”§ Contributions

These are the contributions made at the moment, but this is probably not the final list.

I also have a PR on nuxtjs.org that adds a French documentation, but it doesn't count for the Hacktoberfest if it can interest people

πŸ”₯ Reflections

This is not the first time I have participated in this event. It's already the fourth year, and I'm always happy to have helped some repositories. I will participate again next year

How to write a kickass README

Arguably the single most important piece of documentation for any open source project is the README. A good README not only informs people what the project does and who it is for but also how they use and contribute to it.

If you write a README without sufficient explanation of what your project does or how people can use it then it pretty much defeats the purpose of being open source as other developers are less likely to engage with or contribute towards it.
