Hi, I'm Candace. I'm currently a graphic designer and photographer, been at this for about 16 years now. But I'm switching things up and jumping in to learn full stack web development. Currently trying to wrap my brain around JavaScript, slowly. I have some HTML and CSS knowledge, but I need to fill in some gaps there as well. Hoping to learn more!
Greetings Candance! That's awesome that you've been doing graphic design for 16 years, congrats on that!
Just want to say that I think it is awesome that you've decided to switch things up and if you ever want to discuss JavaScript, I'm always up for a discussion.
Best!
Hi Candance,
I am new here also but I have been coding for around 50 years, If you don't mind I can maybe offer a hint that will make your coding easier. I recommend not trying to optimize while coding, keep your functions simple, short and single minded.
Rick
Thanks, Rick! I will keep that in mind. I know it's easy to over think things. So I appreciate any advice!
Hi.
Thank you, Tyrus! I really appreciate that! I'm really enjoying it so far... frustrated at times, but that's to be expected. :)
Hello Candace. I am a Javascript dev. I am happy to help in your Javascript discovery journey.
Thank you! I appreciate that. :)
Welcome Candace!
Hello there Candace. I also have been in the industry for a while and need to fill in some gaps with my javaScript knowledge. Good luck with your coding journey.
Awesome, my wife is a full-time photographer. What kind of photography do you enjoy? What's the most challenging part of JavaScript so far (maybe I can help explain)? Welcome to DEV!
I do mostly portraits and commercial work. What I enjoy most is creating fine art work - I've done a lot of horror work with my kids :)
Challenging part of JS. Well, I can get the logic working in my brain, but getting it from the concept to code can be confusing. I'll have an idea on what method I need to start using, go look it up and get sent down rabbit trails of other ways to make it work. For instance, I'll be using a for loop. I'll get the loop and output, but then get hung up in between. Usually it ends up being a += symbol killing me and I second guess it while looking up the issues.
It's a good thing i'm not working on paper. LOL
Hello!
Hi Candace! Welcome to DEV!
Welcome Candace to web dev...It is and will be a wonderful experience and I can be of assistance in your journey. Goodluck and happy Coding
Hello, nice to see that there is someone like me here
Right on! Sometimes doing new things can feel lonely at times ;)
Welcome!
great....
Welcome, Candace! Excited to have you here. Graphic design & photography are amazing skills, and they're great additions to your toolset as a web dev.
Best wishes! :)
Welcome
Hey! Welcome and good luck!
Hello and hope you will learn a lot.
Hello everyone. I'm Mostafa and I originally graduated with a business informatics degree. However, years of not finding a job as a technical consultant or a project manager because I did not fit "their criteria" led me to experiment with my own eCommerce business. My passion in programming was renewed again and I am currently working on a C# project, python project and an Android project. I'm looking to learn a lot to advance and share my knowledge with the community
Welcome to DEV Mostafa! This is a great community to learn a lot :)
I am glad I joined this community and I am willing to learn and give to the community when I have more experience
Hello
Hello Mira
Hello. I wish you well on your coding journey.
Thank you very much Michael and good luck to you as well
Cool! Hi Mostafa! What kind of ecommerce development did you do? I help maintain Solidus.
Hello Jacob, I did not do any ecommerce development but I had my own Amazon/ebay stores and I shut them down due to scams. Now I am still doing ecommerce on other platforms but on a lower scale. In the future I am planning to develop my own ecommerce platform with the things I learned to make it both Seller and Buyer friendly
Hi Mostafa, I love the choice of C# and python. What programming language are you using for your Android project?
Hello Viera, I am currently using Ionic/Angular because I am taking it over from a previous team who already worked on the project. If it was my choice I would have created it over Flutter or React
Hi there guys,
My names is Samuele. I'm a full stack developer (Microsoft.NET). Very interested in ML and Algorithms.
Welcome @samuele-cozzi
🖖
Hi there! I hope this is a great experience for you.
Hi Samuele! Welcome to DEV!
Hey there, I'm Henry. I recently made a career change into programming. I've been coding for the past ten years just for fun until about a couple of years when I followed the white rabbit and took the red pill. The journey has just begun since I just finished a Computer Programmer program. Wish me luck!.
Good Luck!! I'm also a red pill person... let me know how it turns out on the other side :)
Good luck, Henry! What would have happened if you'd taken the blue one?
I would have stayed in my previous boring job lol!
Hi Everyone!
My name is Elmer, I'm a NET full stack developer. Im very interested in expand my knowlege with Frontend frameworks such Angular and React.
I love React :) happy to help if you get stuck! Have you done any tutorials, etc to learn it yet?
Not yet, Im starting with some Angular Tutorials with NET Backend, but hopefully I will continue with React
I'm also trying to get better at React, and JavaScript in general! Welcome!
Hi! I am a Jr. web dev with some coding knowledge "put to work" in some live projects. I actually work creating and maintaining Wordpress Sites, woo commerce stores and niche sites/landing pages. I have a good knowledge of performance and load speed and can help with those issues. I also have some SEO, growth hacking and marketing experience. Hope I can help and learn a lot!
Hey!
How do you like WordPress?
Hi, Antone. Do you mean, what I like or how do I like to style it?
I like WP sites that are really fast, with minimum plugins, I prefer creating my own shortcodes or snippets, light theme, some whitespaces, to use golden ratio. Simple sites, not full of images or "things", easy to navigate sites.
I just meant using WordPress as a whole. I'm only hand coding everything at this point.
Wordpress as a whole is fine, but you`ll always need some edition, styling and maybe some snippet. But as an "all-in-one-ready-to-use" CMS, is awesome. With some practice you get a whole site+theme+sorporate edition+contnet in a few hours
Thank you for your insight!
Hey, welcome. How is Wordpress doing these days?
Hi, Edu.
I have some gigs, WP is "working" fine, I mean, you (any user) can easily manage a site (once it is perfectly installed, updated, tuned) and sell, promote, show, teach, you can do anything so it is an ever-green market I think.
Hi
Hi, Nura, nice to meet you.
Hey All! I'm one of the co-founders of Monolist.co. We're a command center for engineers where you can manage pull requests, tickets, and alerts all from one place.
Excited to be part of the community!
Hi Scott! Welcome! Does Monolist integrate with GitHub? Is there a free version for Open Source projects?
Hey Jacob – we do indeed! You can check out what all of our integrations do here: app.monolist.co/guest/integrations
If you'd like, I'd be happy to walk you through a demo! You can just email me at scott@monolist.co if you'd like to set something up.
Right now, we only have one pricing structure, but we're open to being flexible!
Hi Everyone,
My name is George and I am a Frontend Developer and Designer. I am interested in learning more about semantic HTML, CSS, JavaScript, a11y and maybe later I will jump on a framework bandwagon (most likely Vue)...
Hi George welcome and goodluck !
Hi George! welcome to the community
Hi George welcome to the dev.to community.
Hi George! Welcome to DEV :) Good luck as you learn Vue!
Hey all. My name's Peter and I'm a dev for a large education software company working on upgrading a legacy system to run on Angular, with NGRX state. I do some C# stuff for the backend as well. Just getting into security research...
Welcome! Always great to have another "Peter" in the community :)
Hi people. I'm way late.
21 yrs primarily on the Microsoft stack. I used to blog a lot, it was a popular blog. But it's long forgotten. I used to be involved in the local .NET community. It was a popular community. But my awkward presence made it wither and die years ago. LOL, kidding. Sort of.
sad tears 😥
Welcome to DEV Jon! Maybe you can revive the blog a bit here :)
Hey everybody! I’m Fern and I’m a Junior Test Analyst who is aspiring to be a developer. I have knowledge with HTML, CSS. I also use SQL at work.
I’m new to the game but I have been practising little projects on my own laptop for about two years now... I want to focus on getting my confidence up with JavaScript.
Welcome to DEV! 👋
I was told I had to say 'hi' to at least one person. Hi!
Welcome!
Hello Dev. I'm Tunde. I have some knowledge of the Java language, but I'm currently an intern at DevCareers where I'm learning web development with Node.js. I hope to learn more now that I've joined you here.
Hey Tunde, looking forward to learning more Node too! The best to us both!
Thanks, BenR
Welcome Tunde! Node is fun :) And DEV is a great place to learn!

Hey, good to know. I'm trying to expand my dev tools too
Hi! I am not a cat...if I was, I'd say
"Hi! I am a cat"
I am not a cat, I am Richard. Nice to meet you all, in the near future when you respond.
I joined DEV because I was about to write a simple tutorial on testing React components for the guys that work with me. I am a Full-stack developer (JS, React, React Native, Firebase, Ruby on Rails, C++). I mostly build for fun.
What is FS sir?
Hi, Full-stack. I have edited the original post. Thanks!
Hey guys, My name is Erik and I'm a frontend developer. Hope to learn and share :-)
Hi Erik, good to meet you!
Hi All, I'm Dandy, I'm python programmer. my work is (mostly) in backend, but I also try to explore small part of natural language processing for career purpose, I'm not professional programmer but, it would be a next step in my career.
Hello All! My name is Bonnie Peters and I am currently a software development immersive student with General Assembly(GA). When I'm not learning new tech, you can find me exploring new places, trying new things, and engaging new people and cultures.
Hey Bonnie! I'm a student over at Lambda School. The best to us both in our studies!
Hi everyone, my name is Harun. I work as a software developer in germany for about 3 years now. In the past i did some backend stuff with Java(Spring boot). Before that I builded PWA's / native android apps.
Now i want to learn more and start things in a side project to combine all the knowledge and experience i earned in the past. Also i'm into user behavior topics and user experience stuff.
I wanted to join a community and connect with others, just to see how it goes and maybe find like minded people and learn new things.
Thanks for reading and have a nice day =)
Hi Harun! This is a great community for connecting with others :) You have a nice day as well!

Welcome to DEV Juan! Good luck on your last year of school, and on job interviews! What type of position interesting you the most? Big company? Small company? What tech?
Thank you Chris! Ideally a new grad SWE position at small - medium sized company where I can make a difference and learn a bit of everything. I’d love to work with mobile development as the features on mobile devices, in my opinion, have a direct and immediate impact on the user and I’d like to experience that impact. How was your experience as a developer when you first started out? Do you have any tips or advice you wish you had before you started?
Sounds great - I highly recommend small/medium sized companies, because you can get a feel for more than just your tiny little slice of a product or feature.
I have a few pieces of advice for new devs:
It will feel hard: That's normal, and means you're learning. Lean into that difficult feeling, because when you push through it you'll feel great - you've accomplished something, and learned it in the process, and next time it will be easier
Celebrate small wins: It's normal and ok to feel awesome when you get something small and silly to to work! You should celebrate the small wins because that gives you the energy to push through the harder times
Impostor syndrome is real: At times (or all the time!) you'll feel like you really don't know what you're doing - and everyone else does - and that you're hopelessly stuck or lost... but just because you're learning new things, doesn't mean you don't know anything! Look back on what you do know, so you can see how far you've come. You know more than you think :)
Hope that helps! I should probably write a whole post about "how to be a new dev", because I have a lot more to say :) Good luck!
I will remember this, thank you so much!
Hi, i am Tosin, been busy with everything javascript both backend and frontend(html and css, angular framework). My desire is to solve complex problems with my stack and build great tech that help people and organizations
Hi Tosin - welcome to DEV! You're exactly right: there's nothing more satisfying than solving a really complex problem that helps a bunch of people :)
Thanks Chris, so cool to be here.
Hi, I'm Maged, I'm from Sudan, from currently working as Electrical Engineer but I did learn HTML, CSS JavaScript and Android orogramming.
I'm been working Web development for about 2 years now. But I would like to start do some side projects in order to taper my skills.
Since I am being eorking alone for two years i have a lack of collaboration team skills and I would like to start participating in Open projects in GitHub..
My Dream is to Switch from the Engineering work to the Web Development field.
Hoping to learn more in this community
Hi Maged! Side projects are a great way to learn new things and figure out what you like to do. I love just playing around with new tech and ideas! Good luck with your career switch :)
Hey All,
My name's Lucca (yeah that song again). I'm Specialist Support Engineer @SAP hope learn a lot here and share great content!

Hi,to all dev community.i am pramod.i have just completed my diploma in computer engineering.
I knew some programming languages such as c,c++,ds,Java, html, css, JavaScript, python. but i am more interested in learning java programs and making web applications.
Welcome to the community Pramod! I love making web apps :) Good luck in your coding journey!
Hello I'm Casper. I'm a CS student, 2nd year. I'm mainly interested in functional programming, but I enjoy most types of programming. I usually work in F# or C#, but I'm very eager to learn Haskell once I get some spare time. I've been lurking here for a few weeks and found tons of interesting articles, felt it was about time I signed up.
Hi there, I'm Muhammad, a computer engineering student who is disappointed with the level of education he is receiving in college. So, I decided to have it all done on my own and self educate myself. Took CS50 and I'm quite enthusiast about algorithms. Dunno what path I should take but I'm just learning algorithms for now.
I Muhammad! Algorithms is a good place to start and get a good background. After that, I would recommend starting to just play with different technologies on small toy problems - you'll start to see what you like and don't like, and you can extend your learning from there :)
I am a U.S. Army veteran turned full-stack JavaScript developer. I see development to be a satisfying challenge for my problem solving personality. I recently participated in a hackathon where my team's project won the "Social Impact" prize. I am currently doing a deep dive in Nodejs and reading up on Web Components.
Welcome to DEV! Did you learn anything in the Army that helps with being a developer? Also: what was the project that won the prize?
Army - not specifically. However, it was while I was in the Army that I was introduced to Linux and the concept of open source by a fellow soldier. That introduction started me down that path that led to becoming a developer.
Prize project - a web site that that uses the City of Austin's affordable housing API to search for housing using zip code, number of household members and adjusted income as the criteria. The repo is here: github.com/social-housing/affordab...
Neat project :) Thanks for sharing
Hi! Im Jonathan. Im a recent computer science grad looking for jobs and my main interests are web development and blockchain tech. Im an outgoing kinda guy and love to learn. Glad to meet everyone!
Great to have you Jonathan! Feel free to check out listings to post a forhire listing 😄
Most definitely well check it out thank you!
Good luck on your job search! Welcome to DEV :)
Howdy! I'm a student at Lambda School. I love having the chance to spend a ton of time in React, Node, and any other part of the JS ecosystem I can get my hands on. I love love love design (particularly typography) but I cannot draw and will spend hours tweaking the same hex code. Am developer, not designer lol.
Hi Ben! How do you like Lambda School?
I really love it. I'm a full-stack web student, and my experience has been wonderful. The staff are all helpful and enabling, the student body is mostly really focused, the pace is intense, and the materials have been fairly extensive considering the time-frame we're working on. I'd completed a few helpful (but not very comprehensive) tutorial-style react/node courses online in the past, but just in the last 3 months my understanding of Javascript and its ecosystem has grown exponentially. I would absolutely recommend anyone with a work ethic sign up for Lambda School. (disclaimer: I am coming from an other-than-technical career background and JS is my first programming language, results may vary)
That's awesome :) Glad the experience has been good for you!
Hello, I'm Ahmed. I'm a computer science fresh graduate, and currently working as a junior software engineer, and specified more in fullstack web development, using TypeScript. I'm also passionated about game development, and started to learn unity recently. I've joined here to gain more knowledge about all what is related to the CS field, as I want to increase my personal curiosity.
What types of games do you want to develop? Good luck in your new job!
Thanks so much Chris! <3. I wanna start with 2D games, then after I feel comfortable with the concepts, I may start with 3D games.
Hello, Im Charles . Im working as a front end developer and i really like what i do, its become a passion and hobby at this point, my framework of choice is vue js, i can literally design and implement any feature given to me on the front end. Im currently looking for a job in this field and would be grateful if someone can grant it. Ill take any form of design and/or functional test for it to show i'm capable
Hi Charles! I don't know of a job opening, but I just wanted to say good luck :)
thanks
I'm on the job hunt too Charles. Wishing us both the best in our search!
Hi, myself Jitendra,
I'm currently working as Project Lead, mainly work in front end developer. I love programming and enjoy learning more.
I have expert knowledge in HTML CSS and JavaScript. My favorite is JavaScript. I have experience in angular, jQuery and ReactJs. Currently I'm working in my favorite ReactJs.
React is my favorite too! Nice to meet you Jitendra :)
Hi Chris,
Nice to meet you. Yes it's pretty awesome
Hey all. I'm John. I've been in the IT sector going on 20 years now. Love all things Open Source, smiley, lounging sloths, AWS, and anything that improves efficiency. Just learned about this community after complaining to a colleague about Medium.com's pervasive popups. I love sharing what I've learned as much as learning and I'm trying to change the perception of what non-Linux folks' perception is of Linux users, one kind response at a time. Thanks for having me and I hope to contribute something useful soon!
Hi John! Yes, Medium is really... subpar when it comes to dev articles, heh (that's what drove me here too) - so welcome to DEV!
Hey all. My name is Tonida. I am a Javascript developer.
I am looking forward to knowledge sharing and collaboration opportunities.
Welcome Tonida!
Thank you
Hello ! Tonida
Hey there, Alexander here
Just read the recent article on "Four Things in coding careers I wish I knew starting my CS major"(Great article btw!) and realized I had impostor syndrome so I felt like this would be a place where I could learn and connect and be understood especially as a newbie programmer. I do web and android development and looking to expand my understanding both in my specialisation and in the field of IT as a career.
Hi Alexander! Yes, impostor syndrome is pervasive and hard to shake. So welcome to DEV! This is a great place to learn and connect, and hopefully get rid of that impostor feeling :)
Thanks Chris. Much appreciated and thanks again for the warm welcome....
Hi all
I'm a front-end developer into Angular8 and Stenciljs.
I'm looking into building a library of Web Components with Stenciljs.
Anybody have nice components build with Stencil, let me know ;-)
Let me know some cool stuff if you have or tips.
thanks,
Donald
Welcome to DEV Donald! I don't have any Stencil components, but just thought I'd say hi :)
Hi,
Thanks a lot to say hi.
Are you using Stenciljs?
Are you doing front-end programming and what are you using?
Donald
Not using Stenciljs - mostly React :)
Hi I am Michele a self taught web developer, been in the industry for only 10 months at the moment, I have learnt HTML CSS and JS so far, heading for my first framework very soon.

Do well to follow! 😆👍
Hi everyone, I'm Calvin. I'm here at dev.to to get closer to great minds and learn everything that I can. I'm currently attending B.S of Administration of systems and Networks, but I'm more related to software development. I've been participating in some project with cool developers from Mozambique and it would be a great opportunity to work with others developers from another countries. I'm a software developer, so I don't have any favorite programming language but I mostly use PHP and Laravel as the framework. I'm learning Ruby and Ruby on Rails to expand my knowledge and I plan to learn C/C++ soon.
Happy to be part of dev.to.
Hello guys, I am Aman Agrawal. I am in the fourth year of my engineering curriculum. I am inclined towards coding in Java language and I am looking forward to imbibe JS vibes and become a nice web developer.

Hey Deepak, thanks man. The resource looks very interesting and I will get started with the same.
Hi everyone! Sagar here from Mumbai, India. Senior Software Engineer working in an E-commerce company. I have been doing Python for 3 years now and have also worked on Angular as a Full Stack person. Looking forward to the dev.to community.
Hi, I'm Argenis.
Currently working as CTO helping to build a Rails monolith for wakuy.com.
I decided to jump in into this community because already a couple of posts saved me many work hours fixing bugs.
I expect to learn new things until the day I finally die, I think this community looks like a nice place to do just that.
My areas of interest are related to web apps developed around Rails (ruby, javascript, databases, devops).
Additionally interested in machine learning, chatbots and blockchain.
Hey, My Self Deepak Choudhary. I want to connect with Coders, Developers and Tech Enthusiast.
I love to Discuss C and its complex program. I want to know all the minor tracing which we skip in daily life programing.
And UX & UI of this platform(Dev.to) is ANT-SHANT...
Hi, I'm Victor, I'm currently working in a company as a software engineer, I read a publication of "101 tips to be a great programmer (and human)", I like it, so I created my account, I want to meet people. Ihave experience in Angular, Net.Core, Net Framework, JavaScript, JQuery etc. Thanks for read me
Welcome Victor! Nice to meet you.
Yo! I'm Hammad, I'm a freelance designer / developer / consultant that builds full stack web and mobile apps. Huge interest in Blockchain, AI and FP. Currently learning Solidity for Ethereum development and ReasonML! Expert in React / ReactNative / Redux / TypeScript / GraphQL / DevOps etc.
Welcome to DEV Hammad! What do you think fo GraphQL vs normal REST? Is it worth it?
Hi, I'm Thomas. I've officially been software engineering manager for about 1 year. Before that I was a Ruby on Rails dev for 6 years and C/C++/C#/Java dev for 16 years from co-op to senior software engineer.
I'm currently playing with Rust, Python, DevOps, Raspberry Pi and learning about SRE—and whatever else distracts me in a given week. (Also human languages—Polish because of my team members, but also whatever I add to Duolingo or buy a grammar book on.)
Hi, I'm Maurice from Kenya. Pure happenstance that I'm here... went down a Google rabbit hole and as they say, 'the rest is in history...' HaHa! I'm a full-stack developer who is settling into front-end development. I'm presently dabbling in Vue.js and relearning JavaScript (ES6 syntax). I'm hoping to learn a lot from the dev community here.
Can anyone help me with ML project ideas and code for final year project
What are you interested in with ML? What type of topics do you care about? A year long project will go a lot smoother if you actually enjoy the topic 😅
I just need a project related to the agriculture or medicine or environment which can be done in 3 months max
I would start with datasets - what do you have available to you? The dataset is the hardest part (often), so look for good, clean, large datasets and start from there.
Hi, i'm Luca. I'm a software developer and in the last months i'm practicing on end-to-end software testing techiques and framework (Selenium Web Driver and Cypress.io).
I like writing articles and blog post about various topics (coding, seminar, agile, scrum...)...only in italian at the moment.
Maybe I'll write a little something in English ;)
Hello Everyone, My name is Ryan I built my first game on construct.net and now I want to do the same on a website, recently after searching I found glitch.com and now I'm learning lots about javascript and more about css, I am no Professional in any way, it seems the more I learn the more I discover that I don't know. Someday I'd love to study a-frame.io aka Virtual Reality.
Hello Ryan! Sounds like you're on a great learning path 😄 Good luck with your future projects!
New here. I work as an architect at IBM for security related matters. I deal with code and architectures all day, and I am versed enough to understand, describe, suggest, secure a lot of our work. While over the years I have done development in different languages and at different levels of complexity, I figure that is time I spend some time working on an end-to-end "hello-world" type scenario to put together a whole CI/CD pipeline together and all of the pieces that are needed (containers, code, K8, Jenkins, etc). I want to do this to improve my skills but also to get other people ramped up quicker. When I google searched the concept, I came up with a post of another DEV user here that posted something very similar, so that made me want to join this community.
Aye yo, I'm Ryan. I graduated from Temple University with a B.S. in Information Science and Technology. Currently, I am a DevOps engineer that does Web Development on the side. Love all things caffeine, basically my water.
Just some things I am doing currently:

Hi guys, I'm Kyle. I run content and internal data analysis at Kyso. My background is in economics and I'm currently working on improving my data science skills so I can apply to my interest in learning more about social and economic inequality issues.
Hope I can help out and learn a lot from the community!
Hi there! I'm Mauricio. I'm cultural heritage conservator, but when I was a kid started to coding in BASIC. 35 years after here I am, trying to update my knowledge after a few years as Linux user and some experience with data mining and HTML. At the beginning I only thinking this space as a learning opportunity, but you know, the best way to learn is teaching, and I hope to share in some point.
Hi all, I'm Juan. Born in Panama, now residing in New Zealand, I started a career in game development, and am now exploring the field of data analytics. Transitioning from game programming into data engineering at my workplace, I have been learning a lot about both of these worlds! My knowledge on web technologies is very small, but it's growing fast, and I'm absolutely loving this world!
Just a few weeks ago I made my first PR (Although very small) and that got me excited. I hope to share knowledge and experiences with all of you - This community looks beyond amazing! :D
Nice to meet you Juan! I like this community as well :) It's a great place to keep learning!
Hi Chris, nice to meet you as well! Loved your posts on react - Very helpful for a newbie like me.

Hello Everyone! I am Shailesh, Software Engineer and Photographer. I have been working on Ruby On Rails for 9+ years and ReactJS for 3+ years. I am here to learn from the community and would like to know how people approach to solve various problems they face in day to day work.
Welcome Shailesh!
Hi, I'm Jimson. Currently employed as a Data Scientist and keen on exploring my options with data engineering and product management. My interest revolves around using data to impact people and how they live life. I am also quite interested in continuing learning full-stack Javascript, which I last did three years ago.
Welcome Jimson! What type of Data Science do you do?
Hi, my name is Christian. I recently graduated with an MSc in Information Science/Digital Design (2nd career actually), and am currently working on sharpening my coding skills. I'm not quite sure of my direction, but I find things like automation, ML and creative coding especially interesting, and have a general interest in coding as a democratic technology. Javascript and Python is where it's at for me at the moment :-)
Hi Christian! Welcome to DEV :)
Sounds like you've picked some interesting directions to go - ML and creative coding sound awesome. Good luck as you keep sharpening your coding skills!
Hi, I'm Giridhar I have some knowledge of HTML CSS JavaScript. What are frameworks that I need to learn to become a frontend developer and is it possible to learn full stack development while doing job ?
Hello fellow Devs, I'm Donovan I am a Computer Support Technician turned Web Developer who is currently learning PWA's and Reactjs. I work full-time as a Front-End Web Developer for a Digital Agency, I recently joined a startup part-time that is being built from the ground up and I volunteer teaching kids basic coding skills for a non-profit organization. Looking to keep my skills sharp as a Developer.
Hello everyone I'm Doug, some call me Douglife!
I've been on the web for over 20 years now, with this being my first website - web.archive.org/web/20000604011912...
I am currently a LAMP developer for a large company in Central Florida looking to switch to JS and specifically Vue as I've found PHP a bit lacking as I lean towards SPA and PWA projects.
I'm hoping to add to this community as I've already gained so much, and I'm excited to learn about all of you and your projects!
Cheers and a pleasure to meet all of you!
Ah, what a classic first website :)
Welcome to DEV Doug!
Hi, this is Alex working as Technical Architect. I am Sitecore, Coveo, MongoDB, Microsoft certified developer and very active in Sitecore community. I am working on Microsoft technologies and Sitecore from last 12 years.
Welcome to DEV Alex! As someone who doesn't know anything about Sitecore - what's something I should know about it?
Hi!
I am Roman. I am currently in my final weeks of A web-dev bootcamp. Will be starting search for my first dev job in about 10 days. It is all pretty exciting and frightening in the same time. I feel like I have solid understanding of react basics but would like to learn more advanced concepts via personal project work. Any suggestions of fun projects that will help me learn?
Hi Roman, I think because react hooks is pretty new it can help you to learn both hooks and the "old" life cycle methods. How state and props play together is important to build efficient components, and this has changed over time, and you will probably stumble upon it in a lot of old code. So if you understand when and why you should not use getderivedstatefromprops() and how componentwillreceiveprops() has been used it's really helpful, since that's a source for many bugs
Hello, I am Leslie. I currently work on program management for a large company. I used to be a C developer long time ago. And more recently worked on some Java projects. I found this community while searching for information on microServices. I'd like to gain some practical knowledge/skills on cloud technologies.
Howdy! I'm Jared and I've been a web dev for about 4 years now...ish. Joinging Dev.to mainly because it pops up in my Google feed every day haha. I've been writing on medium, but figured I'd try it out over here.
I am a 40 year developer with experience in Delphi,c# and the last 2 years JavaScript typescript and bootstrap which I really enjoy!! Despite my age I still enjoy programming and learning new fascinating frameworks!! I love to share my experiences with other developers!! Thank you very much for this exciting community
Welcome to DEV Nikos!
Hi all, I am Mike. I came across a thread regarding using Web Components versus the many JS frameworks that arrive over the years. I am curious about the direction of web technology, try to stay in step with it, and wish to grow my competencies in both coding and making suggestions to my team when necessary.
Hi, I am vikas sudan, I am digital marketing expert, i have 5 yrs experience in same filed. I have some HTML and CSS knowledge, but I want to move in coding part. I am learning PhP and jave script in my working days.
Hi Vikas - Good luck with learning more coding! DEV is a great place to hang out and get better at programming :)
Hey folks!
My name is Guilherme ( my name is the Brazilian version of William!) and I am Data Scientist here in Brazil.
I have a bachelors degree in economics and did 3 years of statistics before dropping out.
I mainly work in Python and R now a days, but I have worked in C (for two classes, algorithms and Graph algorithms), Rust and a little Go.
I work at a fintech (personal loans) here in Brazil, developing and deploying the credit scoring system used by the app.
I'm a Linux and Vim user for a while now, since I learned to program when I was 15, and pretty much love using the computer as productively as I can.
I also hate not know what my system is doing, that is why I migrated from windows completely a few years ago.
Lately I've been meaning to become a better programmer in order to get some ideas I have out of paper.
Some of them revolve around parsing and normalising server logs of online games that I like in order to build some analytical tools around them.
If you know something about that, lets talk!!
Cheers,
Gui!
Welcome Gui! I'm not sure I can help with parsing and normalising server logs - but good luck with your project!
My name is Tyrus, however I also go Ti! 👔
I've been programming ever since I was 6 and I can't stop. My first program was a bot that I created for the free MMORPG game called RuneScape. I created it so that I could keep up with my friends' accounts, since I was allocated a certain amount of time every day after school -- and my friends weren't 😂.
Anyways, I am happy to be part of this community and I appreciate the opportunity to join!
I am currently a Full-Stack developer, however I specialize in the Front-End (so pretty much a Front-End developer 😊)
Ever since I graduated college and got a full-time job in this industry, I haven't been able to focus on my personal projects however that's going to change.
An interesting / fun fact about me, is that I'm a quadruplet!
Warmest regards,
Tyrus Malmstrom.
Hi Everyone, happy to join this community. I'm currently a new implementations project manager at a hospitality company. I am looking to become a full stack developer and I am doing advanced CSS right now. I self learning and using a combination of Udemy courses and reading to get myself up to speed.
Hello all, I am Eric. Refugee from Twitter here looking to stay connected in a more positive way to tech themes and updates.
I am a full-stack developer, 5+ year employee of Avalara. Currently working on tech related to EMEA business registration and VAT reporting. Recently been implementing analytics solutions using Snowflake and AWS lambda's.
Used to work on ambitious EmberJS apps at Avalara. Not doing Ember at work currently but I have side projects, notably github.com/artzte/tinysis-ui.
Anyone else using Ubuntu as their development environment?
When I am afk you can find me riding bikes, running kids around town, or swinging swords.
Hi Eric! Welcome to DEV. This is a good refuge from twitter :) The community is generally calm and kind here; I love it!
Hi there,
I'm Jonathan and a freelance Dev. My first open source project has just seen its release (trying to make frontend development easier) and it seems I've fallen into the "build it and they will come" trap. As developers, I think we all enjoy uninterrupted, highly concentrated hours of learning about a problem deeply, checking previous solutions and then finding the missing bits. Now I am leaving this serenity to learn what else it takes for a project to succeed =)
So I thought I might join Dev.to...
Ah yes, build it and they will come .... :)
Well welcome to DEV Jonathan! This would be a great place to blog about your open source project, and see if anyone is interested.
Also: you don't just have to blog about what it does: you can blog about what you learned while building it, what you learned while marketing it, the tools that you used to build it, etc.
Good luck!
Hi, I'm Calleb. I'm Mozambican 🦁! I started programming last year (2018) and fell in love with Mobile Programming in the same year. Since there, I started learning about it. Actually I program to Android using Kotlin. I have some Dart&Flutter knowledge, but I want to be great at Kotlin. I hope I can Learn more here, and share with you the things I know!
Hi everyone,
I am Toan and I am just put my first step in the way become DEV. So I really happy to have a chance to introduce myself also to learn from a lot of awesome guy in this community. Thanks and have a nice day!!!
Good luck on your coding adventure! And welcome to DEV :) It's a great place to learn
Greetings and salutations! I'm a Senior Cloud Software / DevOps Engineer Consultant. Most of what I work with these days is Azure Cloud, full stack dotnet core, angular and ionic front-ends, as well as yaml / powershell / azure cli / arm templates for provisioning & CI/CD. I'm a Microsoft Certified Azure Developer Associate, and plan on becoming a Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert very soon. I'm almost 16 years deep in my career, and I'm here to primarily help anyone I can, and also for ideas / inspiration / motivation to create side income using my experience. Cheers!
Hi Brad! That's great that you're coming to help out :) Welcome to DEV!
Hi, I'm Nazeh, currently, i work as a web developer and I've been coding for a couple of years now.
I do hope to learn a lot here while i pursue my career in the tech space. And i hope to be able to add value to this community as a whole.
Hi, I’m Juha and 62 years young. I used to be a sw designer back in the day in the 80s, but then got into marketin, sales and management. I am now (luckily) almost retired from that crap and getting back to programming at least as a hobby. Currently I am learning by developing a mapping app and a scorecard app using Angular, Firebase and Leaflet. Udemy has been really helpful and I really like Mosh and Maximillian! StackExchange is also really valuable when having problems. But the biggest help has been that already in the 80’s l learned the concepts of object oriented design.
Cheers
Juha
Hi, my name is Kristy. I got into software development after dabbling for a couple years then going to a bootcamp, which ended up being a great experience for me. I'm currently working as a .Net/C# Dev and blindly working in Angular 7. I want to expand my front end knowledge to full be a full stack dev. I'm very involved with women in tech and always interested in mentorship (giving and receiving).
Hi! I'm Lenny. I first got into the web when I was making phpBB blogs for text RPGS with friends in middle school, and I learned to make webpages my last year of high school. In college I studied aerospace and later mechanical engineering, but I still nurtured my web skills by joining the school paper. I ended up going to grad school thinking I’d do photojournalism (that’s a short, bizarre, but fun story!) and I ended up focusing on data-driven journalism and data visualization.
I joined Dev.to because I’m looking to improve my writing skills (by writing for others), my teaching skills (by writing about code) and my own coding skills (by reading what others write).
I’m currently doing Cassidy Williams’s Udemy course on JS and React (because I have no idea what React is and why it’s so popular). I’m also hoping to learn more about Python which I really love (and which I really used to hate).
I'm César, and I currently work @ oplab.com.br.
I do frontend, backend and devOps work there using react, node and docker.
I know a little bit of CSS and I know a little bit of chess.
My favorite skateboarder is Geoff Rowley.
Hi César! Are there any good Geoff Rowley youtube videos I should watch?
Yes! Watch this classic part from him. Totally worth it!
oooh, that looks like it hurts sooo much... but it's great when he does land the tricks :)
Thanks!
Hi, I'm Irfan. Currently React and React Native developer. Focusing on JavaScript and aiming to become JavaScript fullstack developer. A friends recommend me to this and I think I will not only go for JavaScript now. There's no limit for learning right. :)
Welcome to DEV Irfan! How do you like React Native? Any big problems recently, or has it been smooth for you?
Hi, I'm Umer and a Web Developer. Quite experienced with JavaScript (since I was 13 four years ago). Worked with frameworks like React, and the Node environment to make full stack applications for the web. Previously a Game Development nerd.
Hi, I'm Anil. I'm currently a software developer working mostly on enterprise applications. I have been coding since last 12 years. Of those 9 years were in C++ and Java. And last 3 years into html, css, javascript, Angular 1.x and React. While I feel at comfort with Javascript and these new frameworks, it's the CSS which still I am not very confident at. Hoping to take my skills to next level there.
Hello, I am a crazy developer of web technologies and have been doing this for a while. I recently discovered FP and now I feel like I'm starting over as a newb on that front. I feel happy to have discovered this place and I'm excited about getting to know you guys !

Hi, I am Naresh. I'm currently working as a quality consultant @Verizon India. Have great knowledge with AWS, Python, Docker and Quality Automation. Looking to improve my skills, learn JS and Kubernetes and also contribute to the community as well.
Welcome to DEV Naresh!
Hello everyone! I was an English teacher for some time but that was never enough. Also, I've always been keen on tech and one day I decided to go back to college and study coding. I'm presently studying to be a front-end dev, but I'm still not so sure about it...
Welcome to DEV Vinícius - good luck learning! What aren't you sure about?
Hello, am here to learn.
Hello Michael! I'm here to teach 😄 What are you most excited about learning?
Lol, am a WordPress developer, I want to be a software engineer, learning HTML, CSS, JS at the moment.
Good stuff! Good luck on your learning :) This is a great place to learn webdev stuff.
Hello Chris am excited about software engineering.
Hello everyone. Am Brain. Little weird name, right? Well that's me. I've always loved to join any group of programmers 'cus those are the people that does what fascinate me. It's my goal to become a fullstack web developer someday. I'll so much appreciate any help I'll get in fulfilling my dream from this group. Thanks.
Hi Brain - welcome to DEV :) Good luck getting into development!
Hey, I'm Jenna.
I've been an English teacher in South Korea for 3 years now, and I've decided to switch careers to software engineering. I'm working with a coworker to learn for free online via Berkeley's online CS61A course and freeCodeCamp. I also just joined GitHub, Stack Overflow, and DEV community, but I am still very much a noob.
I hope to meet some people who are also learning so we can synergize and get better quicker! I'm also hoping to transition into a software job by 2020.
Suuuper excited to get started!
Hi all, I'm Fernando, I'm a frontend developer trying to keep up with the plethora of UI libraries, I use mainly Angular but I find interesting trying and testing other frameworks as well. Happy to have found what looks like a very nice community
Hey folks! I'm Kumbi and my work in UI keeps me hopping over the fence between design and development. I just returned to uni (starting class today) and I'm here to look around, find my people, help, and be helped. 👋
Hello guys. My name is Jay, I am 18 years old and live in Stuttgart, Germany. Currently I am doing my first tech job at smark, we're building automated vending machines, especially supermarkets who want to offer things at night (and on the weekens). In Germany there are some laws that disallow opening stores on sundays, and in Bavaria (where everyone else in the world thinks the best German beer cames from), they are even more restricted, requiring stores to close at 8pm everyday. Gas stations are open longer, but aren't allow to sell you drinks, etc. if you don't buy gas on them.
This is our first new store in Stuttgart: vimeo.com/359491635/5c03f403c1
My part is mostly doing networking stuff, which means: building ethernet cables, hanging up access points for free WiFi for our customers, VLANs and all that stuff. Not enough, also doing video surveillance in the store. Happy to work with Ubiquiti equipment for almost a year now which brought me into this job.
When I am out of my job, I love travelling. Mostly do this in trains, next trip is Vienna starting monday, and then continue to Berlin with a night train, so awesome.
FunFact about me: I always wanted to become a train driver (and still want to), I was able to run some trains throughout Germany while working at German railways; it's an awesome feeling running besides the Autobahn with 300 km/h when everyone else is stuck in traffic.
Cheers!
Welcome to DEV, Jakob!
Interesting to hear the background behind smark! I can definitely understand the need. I currently live in North Carolina in the states, and there are loads of stores that close on Sunday. It's great that folks have off, but it is a bummer when you want to go buy something. This would be super helpful!
Aside from that, I'm also a big fan of traveling. Currently, I'm in Costa Rica looking for a place to rent! I hope to live here for a while and travel around Central and South America.
Anyway, hope you dig the community here! Lots of friendly folks. 😀
Hello, I'm Sazzad. I'm from Bangladesh. I have professional experience for more than 3 years in software development in software industry. I'm new here and want to connect with dev community and want to do opensource contribution. So far I have worked in Mobile Apps development (Android), Web developement, PHP, Java, Javascript, JQuery, Nodejs, C#, MySQL, MS SQL Server. Currently I am focusing on MERN stack development and Microservice architecture.
Hi all just published my first article here.
Drawing google map and pins using React.Context
Welcome any and all feedbacks but please be gentle :D
Hi everyone. I have been programming for the past 20 years within the product called ax 365, or as least that is what it is called now. Recently I have been getting into typescript, node.js and only within the last couple of days I have dabbled in graphql, which I find very fascinating. I enjoy most things programming and I am curious about go but haven't had time to look at it yet. I think my biggest issue is the front-end stuff, but must admit it's been a while since I've looked at it. I am sure it is much more than just declaring HTML tags and writing CSS classes now, but in the past I always quickly got bored with that stuff. I'd like to find a love for it though since it would complement the back-end programming I am experimenting with nicely.
Happy to be on board!
Chris

Hello👋
I'm a Software Engineer. I'm consulting and working on various things from Enterprise contracts to tiny internet projects like devmates.co.
Previously, I worked at the R&D Department at Upwork (NASDAQ: UPWK) as a Software Engineer / Data Scientist (employee, not a freelancer).
Hi, I’m Igor L. Sambo. I’m working currently with Php and Flutter, trying as much to evolve as a flutter specialist.
Welcome to DEV Igor! I've been interested in flutter recently - how do you like it?
Hi, I've been missing out from dev.to. I enjoy working with flutter because its really easy to see results on what you're working on and it relies on the device performance on it's own without depending on some sort of browser or as I call it, a translator.
Hi, I'm Celestine Osisiogu and new here, I have some HTML, Css, experience, little knowledge on Javascript. Curently I'm learning Python and Django framework and aspiring to be a great backend and front-end developer. I'm sure I can get the help in here.

Good evening dear devs, I'm Boris from Israel. Am a Social Worker at day, and a web dev in spare time, always looking to improve my skills by solving problems. I enjoy both front end and backend, although Ive so much to learn. I also do portrait photography as a hobby sometimes. I write a lot, recently began writing some dev related stuff so maybe I'll post a few bits here.
My name is Peter Vel Baah, I am a beginner, I would love to see something that I create and using code to solve problems.
Hello Peter it is great to see more beginners like me following in the same journey. Best of luck to you
Hi everyone, i'm Ra.
Altough i studied business economics, i had some job experiences while studying, during which i came across data science activities.
I've since then scouted the web for learning material, finding some awesome resources.
A year and a half ago i then finally landed my first job in the field, but surely i have a very long way to go.
My main interests are Python, machine learning, algorithms and automation, but would love to approach web development once i've consolidated my job skills.
I still consider myself a beginner, but i'll bring my passion to the community, as it is the very least i can do as a token of appreciation for the valuable help i'm sure i'll get from you guys.
Cheers!
Good to meet you Ra! Welcome to the DEV community :) Good luck with learning more about coding!
Just want to say that Ithink http:medium.com/@bestdoctors/why-you-ne... it is awesome that you've decided to switch things up
Hey all,
I'm Bharath. Right now I'm an undergraduate. I'm interested in developing though I don't know specifically what( which I suppose I've to explore and find out soon enough..
Right now all I know is some basic knowledge in c++ and python( by this I mean the simple basics nothing more), but now I'm off to learn further in this!!!
I am a student learning code
Best of luck on the journey :)
What languages do they have you starting with?
👋Hello!
Hi, I am Aniket. Currently working as frontend developer for insurance company, I have total 3 years of experience in coding and all in front end. Goal is to be expert in web applications to deliver smoothest experience to the user. Besides work I love to play soccor and online games like counter strike and DOTA2. Anime fan <3 currently following one piece, attack on titans. In free time love to sketch some characters also. I am Linkin park, Green day fan and Stan. Want to learn so many challenges that all devs come across while building bigger apps. I know this was not short bio but I am bit of talker jabber :P
Hi, I'm Adam and I just started learning JavaScript a few days ago and it's really making my head hurt. So far I've learned how to make a popup, and that JavaScript is hard. I started with a Udemy course which may have been a mistake because I don't feel like I'm learning much more than how to copy and paste code.
Hi there,
I'm Marco and I've been a Senior UX Engineer for long years. Actually I am a product manager and in my spare time I'm focusing on the creation of a new product...more an experiment that has attracted a bunch of investors. No founds at the moment but to convince them I need to develop an app before. So I'm looking for a backend dev to enjoy this experience. Text me if someone is interested
I'm Gregory. I'm an aspiring web developer. It so happened that in 43 years had to change professions. In the industry where he worked there was a deep crisis. Learning programming was originally an experiment, but now I can say that I fell in love with programming. Initially it was interesting: whether I will be able to master a new profession if all life was engaged in other business? Now there is no doubt. At first I tried to study on my own, but decided to take courses at a technical University. I live in Russia, in St. Petersburg. English only learn, so do not swear at mistakes.
Hi, I'm Zack. I have been a programmer since I was 10 years old. I started working in the industry while I was in high school, and I've always had a passion for it. These days, I am working as a recruiter, hoping to connect here with like minded people who are truly passionate about programming. In my journey transitioning from software engineer to recruiter, I've learned a lot of mind-blowing things about how company's perceive candidates. I hope to both share some of these insights with the community as well as meet people I could place into jobs.
Hi I am Nitesh. I am Software Engineer at Caratlane Trading Pvt. Ltd. While not doing regular 9-6 Job, I love making some open source contributions. Read some articles or have some drinks with friends.
Hi, I'm Dan.
Coding incoherently on and off for a few years, I then started more regularly a year ago, coinciding with some more interesting stats work. Love R and Python. I'm currently trying to understand how JavaScript and it's many frameworks and libraries work. Thanks.
Hello, I'm Leila! I've been doing front end web development for about four years (professionally) now, predominantly a lot of WordPress themes. I love responsive website design and I'm currently branching into learning Vue.JS and React.
I also do part time work as a barista! I love caffeine too much and know wayyyy too much about coffee at this point. I'm so thankful for the Vue resources this site has provided so far!!

Greetings, programs! My name is Carla. I'm a full stack dotnet developer with 21 years experience. I've recently discovered the joys of CLI coding, Angular, and CD/CI. My whole outlook has now changed and my burnout is finally retreating.
I want to learn more new things (and make myself more marketable)!
Ollo I'm Trust,a CS Major. I fell in love with Java and C# along the way of learning. I try to read as much as I can about how to apply my knowledge the idea of working as an engineer excites me but i feel the bridge between university and industry is a vast one. I came here to read up on what I don't know i don't know and to see how other beginners navigate their lives once employed. Feels good to part of a community 😁

Hello People!
My name is Daniel and I'm infatuated with making peoples lives easier. I was a commercial fisherman in Alaska for 13 years, but made the jump to the bit mines in 2014. I develop and implement tools and systems to make things easy and obvious for development and operations teams to do their jobs.
I've have all kinds of curiosities and am always looking for a new channel to communicate these.
Topic of current curiousness: Streaming telemetry, what the heck is it and how is it leveraged? Where might I find other people interested in monitoring and observability around these parts?

Hello everyone!!
👋 Mahalinoro!
Big hello to everyone! My name is Mersad and I am one of the founders of SpotShot, a social media startup from Berlin, Germany that is making an app for challenges. Note: I am not the dev in our team!
I have been dabbling with coding for over a decade now, but never managed to fully dive into it. Me studying computer science kinda traumatized me. CS != coding and creating awesome stuff. That totally changed when I started learning again by using Teamtreehouse(man I really love what they do).
I am into web development and love Python and JS. My goal is to become a full stack developer that is able to create full web applications and later on mobile applications as well. A fellow student brought me here(@oculv21 ).
Fun fact about me: more of a cat person than dog person.
Hi, my name is Mike. I'm considered an intermediate developer even though I've been doing front-end dev for 12 years. A lot of things have changed over the years, but I am excited to learn the new and the old to become a better developer.
Hello everyone, I'm Samuele and I'm a 20 years old Computer Engineering Student from Italy! Recently I created my first website, my portfolio, using HTML and CSS and I'm currently learning Javascript. I also know Python and Java partly because my interest in IT and also thanks to my Uni but what really interests me is web development and becoming a full stack developer. Check out my portfolio let me know what you think I should change, add or remove, I really need some feedback. Thank you :)
Hello everybody. My name is John and i live in Oklahoma City. I'm self-teaching web development while attending a part time bootcamp. My goal is to become a Full-Stack web developer by the end of this year. I've had so much fun using Javascript. I never thought i would be in the tech field and I'm glad i got into it since I realized my passion is in programming. I'm here to meet other developers, both beginners and experienced ones. I'm happy to join the community!
Hi, I'm Lindsey. I'm a student at a bootcamp learning Javascript. Spent the last 11 years in the insurance industry and excited for this change. My favorite thing about development is being able to be creative, I just struggle with figuring out how to make what is in my brain appear on the screen. Also, since I am coming from a very non-tech background (my former employer wanted us to call the helpdesk just to clear our cookies)I struggle with knowing what kind of cool things are out there for me to experiment with. It's all very overwhelming, but I'm taking it in stride and learning as I go.
Hello,
I'm Antone. antone.dev is my domain. Fair warning, it's a sandbox right now. Just random stuff. It should be a portfolio soon.
I'm working through freecodecamp and I'm really enjoying JS. I've played with Java, C#, and Python in the past. I do NOT like Python. The whitespace syntax bothers me deeply. I really liked Java, but decided to change languages when their license changed. I think JS is a happy medium. I've heard that NASA uses JS for software? I assume they meant it was running natively, and I want to explore that in the future.
Hi, I am Panos. I am working as a full-stack developer, writing Ruby, Ruby on Rails, and JavaScript: React and React Native. I am quite new to React/ReactNative and have a lot of questions about it. Stackoverflow brought me here. I didn't know about the site.
Hope to learn a lot from you and maybe you can learn something from me too.
Hey there, I'm Henry. I recently made a career change into programming. I've been coding for the past ten years just for fun until about a couple of years when I followed the white rabbit and took the red pill. The journey has just begun since I just finished a Computer Programmer program. Wish me luck!.

Welcome Harin! What interests you the most in Machine Learning?

Hi, I'm Kalpit. I'm a full stack software developer (web & mobile) working as a freelancer for over 3 years not (total experience of 5+ years). I keep jumping from one thing to another... breaking, fixing, and learning. Sometimes just breaking, not fixing, but always learning. I'm a jack of all trades, hoping to share my experience with the community so that we can break less things collectively.
Howdy, Mick from Scotland here.
I found this place via Indie Hackers. I'm a software professional by day in a large corporate nightmare of a place, but by evenings and weekends I love to build my own stuff and I have 2 semi successful products on the market. One is profitable (just) and the other has received significant investment so... we might get somewhere with that eventually.
Anyone else here from Scotland?
Hello devs, i'm Mihai - been working in the network analytics space for quite some time. Got frustrated with building UI(either for my startups or companies i was consulting for), so i built an admin dashboard template with Svelte, aiming to help SaaS companies launch quicker.
We've got a free version, geared towards SaaS startups just starting out: github.com/mihairaulea/DashboardHe...
Hoping to be useful to the community.

Right now, I know something about HTML and CSS and I'm learning JavaScript.

I've a background in blogging at GistGate and other blogs, also in graphics design and digital marketing. Now I want to build apps and startups that can make real impact in people's lives internationally.
Sorry I might seem a bit too ambitious but hey it's one life and there's no limit to dream and goals.

Hi, I'm Mauro. I'm currently studying CS in Bari, Italy. In my spare time I love to make my ideas concrete, along with some tech writing all over the web.
Generally I prefer the Android platform, but in the last year I've mastered my front/back-end skills. I quite enjoyed the ride (It was tough though) and it's still going on.
I was an active dev on XDA where I maintained some old devices, then I migrated to app development because I fried (literally) my old PC and of course, I couldn't risk to lose another one.
I'm here because I know I can learn new stuff and improve my knowledge.
Hi All, I am an ex-COBOL Developer (9 years worked in Life insurance IT domain) now looking to become a Front end Developer and finally Full stack Developer. Hi, I'm Aamir from Pakistan. It's been two years working on JS stack. I have mostly worked on angular, node, express.js, nestjs frameworks. Now i think i have a good knowledge of stack, how things work together. But i am not so good with best practices, architect the project. So trying to working on this. And i hope dev.to will help me a lot to gain these skills.
Hi there. I'm Yoel. Although I'm primarily focused on network and information security, I enjoy coding and building applications. Even though those are technically 2 different fields, one shouldn't limit themselves to just 1 line of work. At the end of the day, developers build applications needed today while network engineers bridge the gap and keep it available and secure.
I have dabbled with MEAN stack and the Ionic framework. Currently going into the MERN stack and learning some about UI/UX concepts. Happy to be here.
Hi, I'm Hassan. I'm a junior web developer, 23 yo and working as a freelancer.

Hey o/"
I'm Nigel. Been a dev for around 10 years. Originally I was a PHP dev and dabbled in jQuery and SQL then landed my first junior role. After a year or so got more into PHP and design patterns like DDD and so on.
The past few years I've picked up devops, mentoring, react/js, rust, Docker, A11Y, CI/CD pipelines and so on.
Always wanting to push my boundaries I still consider myself a junior in what I do.
Outside of my nerd world I'm a father and husband, and enjoy Linux, photography and the odd bit of social gaming.
Hi I'm Kebin. I'm a junior software developer at STAR Maths Online. I enjoy coding and solving puzzles. I'm independently learning Dart and flutter too.

Hey! I'm a rookie developer from Norway who has been programming since 2015, though I haven't done too much interesting just yet. I am very comfortable in Node.JS but have recently started venturing out to lower levels like C++, and have really been enjoying it. Other languages I have tried out but haven't stuck with include Java, C#, COBOL, Python, Ruby, Go and Dart, just to name a few. Currently I'm studying programming at university, and I'm really excited to learn more about it. I have stumbled over this website now and again looking for guides for small projects I've done, and now I decided to give the website a proper try. Really looking forward to see how my programming will improve over the times, it really has over the years I've been doing it.

Hi everyone! I recently moved into the management world and I'm now a Director of Platform Development. However, I still like to keep my hands in the coding world by live-streaming on Twitch and speaking at Meetups and conferences.

Hi! I'm Lenny. I first got into the web when I was making phpBB blogs for text RPGs with friends in middle school, and I learned to make webpages my last year of high school. In college, I studied aerospace and later mechanical engineering, but I still nurtured my web skills by joining the school paper. I ended up going to grad school thinking I’d do photojournalism (that’s a short, but fun story!) and I ended up focusing on data-driven journalism and data visualization.
I joined Dev.to because I’m looking to improve my writing skills (by writing for others), my teaching skills (by writing about code) and my own coding skills (by reading what others write). I’ll probably write a lot about data visualization and data journalism-related topics (data scraping, analysis, processing, cleaning, etc.).
I’m currently doing Cassidy Williams’s Udemy course on JS and React (because I have no idea what React is and why it’s so popular). I’m also hoping to learn more about Python which I really love (and which I really used to hate). Like how to use it to make web apps and APIs, and visualizations that can be printed in a media publication.
Hello, I'm Savelle. I just started a job as a Frontend Web Developer this year. I've been a UX/UI designer for the last 12 years and decided to become a full stack developer(web and native). I have been developing web apps for the last 5 years. Most of my dev experience is in HTML/CSS and Custom Wordpress. I'm now working in Angular with a C# backend. I'm hoping to see some inspiring posts, to keep me motivated in learning how to develop apps.
Thanks, Dylan! And best wishes to you as well!

Hi, this is Tin. I've been working as java developer for about 12 years. Currently I'm trying to catch up more on AWS, Kubernetes and devops works. To be honest, I'm not so sure what exactly is dev.to whether it is a blog, forum, or another medium. I read some really good articles from here and that's why I'm joining. Curious to find out more.
Hi, I'm Dan, a self-taught software engineer who learned Java and Go from books and then re-learned them from experience writing and debugging them. I've also fell in love with the DevOps culture.
Mostly I feel I'm at a crossroads where I need to decide my area of focus for the coming years - should it be Java, Go, DevOps, blogging, teaching or something completely different? The possibilities are endless.
Hey! Myself Abhishek from Chennai, India. I'm working as a DevOps Engineer with four+ years of experience. Currently learning Python for exploring opportunities with machine learning and AI. I am a Redhat certified engineer with good knowledge on AWS, Linux, Jenkins, Ansible and other DevOps Tools.

Hi, I'm Vishnu currently a senior software engineer in Bangalore India. I love golang and distributed systems! Joined the current company as a front-end engineer when jquery was still a thing, however didn't get a chance to work on front end and have been working for 4 years as a back end dev building platform services and APIs. I've decided to take a career break for a month to try and undo the damage I did to my health over the past 4 years sitting in front of a PC for close to 16 hours a day.
Hi everyone!
I'm Raja, a third year computer science student. I reeeally enjoy programming. I learned C/Cpp, Python and Haskell through my school projects and I learned OCaml and Solidity in an internship.

Hello Everyone. Angelo here and I am from Canada. I currently work for a local government organization developing and supporting web applications. I do full stack web development as well as mobile application development.
On spare time, I usually dabble in technologies outside of my comfort zone, and try to learn as much as I can. I am passionate about productivity and building software that people use. I think that's the metric by which a software is successful - if it is being actively used by your customers and helps them better do their work.
I also do side projects, and can help with pretty much everything - from analysis, support, development, troubleshooting, QA, testing and consultation of any software project. I tend to learn fast and can quickly assimilate guidance on good approach to building the product.
Lastly, I look forward to learning and sharing knowledge that I have as well as getting to know the people in this community.
Regards.
I'm currently working as a curriculum developer at Andela which is a software engineering staffing startup. I'm also passionate about learning and optimizing it for aspiring software engineers. I'm also currently focusing on learning Javascript and specifically NodeJs/Express. My desire is to build a learning platform that caters for kids in developing countries

Hi there! I'm Mauricio. I'm cultural heritage conservator, but when I was a kid started to coding in BASIC. 35 years after here I am, trying to update my knowledge after a few years as Linux user and some experience with data mining and HTML. At the beginning I only think this space as a learning opportunity, but you know, the best way to learn is teaching, and I hope to share in some point.

Hey guys, I am Ashwin. I am a final year Engineering student in Computer Science and Engineering from India. I was 12 years old when I fell in love with technology and I've been programming ever since. Lately, I have become interested in the fields of Machine Learning / AI and IoT. I've spent a better part of my engineering in learning and working on self-motivated projects in these areas. I am planning for my master in the USA next year and hoping to get a good admit. Meanwhile, I am hoping to learn as much as I can.
I'll see you guys around.

Also looking for ideas and domain areas to do study projects and try approaches.
Hi, i'm olakunle, new to programming but ready to learn whatever language that will make me a better programmer
Welcome to DEV Olakunle! I'd say the best programming language to learn is the one that you can really "think" in. Meaning: whatever feels the best for you is the best to start with! The first programming language you learn is always the hardest - after that it gets a lot easier, because the concepts are mostly the same across many of the mainstream languages. Good luck!
