I should probably retract my earlier question about Wolof (Cool name for a language) because I googled it.

My name is Danni & I am currently learning front end web development (html, CSS, JS) from CodeAcademy and DEV was listed as a resource.
I currently work as a controls engineer in the Chicago region, and I am looking to learn web development in my spare time. I believe this will become another hobby of mines as I have always been interested in web design.
A fun fact about myself is that when I was about 14 years old, I started a small company creating custom design jean shorts. It only lasted a couple of months (it was a personal summer project) but I now wish I continued that spirit haha.

Hello all! I have been part of DEV for a fairly long time as a lurker, but really enjoy the content here.
I am a Cloud Architect/DevOps champion, and my development tends to be around automation and infrastructure/security/policy as code. I also like to make sure I don't have to do the same thing twice (wishful thinking!), so I tend to try to automate all the things whenever I can.
Trying to get out of my shell a bit an interact with the community more here. Looking forward to it!
One fun fact about me is that I have been working with Unix (followed by Linux) systems for over 30 years, and I still have just as much fun hacking on things as I did when I started (perhaps more!)

I worked with RPG-2 on DOS/VSE machine. Greate language. When I started my job it was 100% Cobol, after I learned RPG-2 instead of making changes to Cobol reports I rewrote it in RPG-2. Long time ago...
Hello Everyone ! I'm currently working as a Business System Anakyst and learning Web dev in my spare time. I spend a lots of time on tools that help to manage data. So often I end up using VBA and google apps script (which is essentially JS) . That's how I got into programming and I'm in love with it. An interesting thing about myself is that I wanted to build a website where I can post pictures and share videos kinda similar to social media but exclusive only to people of our school. It seemed to complicated at that time but I feel I should have persisted and should have not given up on it.
