Just arrived. A 56 year old developer. Started 40 years ago. Hoping to go for at least another 40 years. Currently developing mainly with Oracle Apex, htp.p (HTML, JavaScript and CSS from inside Oracle), Oracle PL/SQL, and Microsoft Power BI (especially slicers). Currently writing an Indicator Performance Management System for the Western Cape Government; long term client is Achievement Awards Group where I maintain their accounting systems and write some incentive and loyalty software.

Happy to help anyone. Feel free to ask questions. I've made lots of mistakes and also had lots of success. Remember to persevere, don't give up, and always be prepared to ask the "stupid questions." It's these questions that have got us past the "obvious" way of doing things, called dogma. Scientists ask questions and have hypotheses that they seek to prove or disprove. Be a scientist.

I'd also like to be involved with this. I believe that there is a "building block" language out there, just waiting to be invented.

True. Currently, I am using a low-code platform called DronaHQ. They already have APIs ready to be used. Quite easy-to-use for the same purpose.

Check it out > dronahq.com/automation

Hey everybody, after 10 years of working in mining industry I've decided to change my career to coding and here I am! In the past 5 months I've started to learn HTML, CSS, JS, NodeJS, SQL and ReactJS. I know it will be a long journey, but I know I can do it.
Let's move forward and enjoy the ride!

Hello, I'm Fahim from Bangladesh. I'm a beginner in web development. That's why I often fell into problems and google for it. Often I get to solve my problems in someone's blog of dev.to . So I'm curious about this platform and wanna know what else I don't know.

I'm totally beginner in the programming world. I'm a mechanical engineer of 2018 batch and want to change my tread. I have done some basic learning of frontend web dev in past 3 months and I have come here in search of a programmer like myself (self-taught {begineer or advance programmer}) so that I can learn more about the programming world, learn new skills and learn something new from you guys. My purpose in coming here is that I can do Communicative & Competitive Programming. :)

I'm Aaron, a first year in Munster Technological University Cork (formerly CIT), Ireland.

I'm doing my BSc in Software Development and am sure I'll enjoy this community.

We're mainly doing Python right now and I'm really enjoying it, if not a little intimidated.

Howdy!

Ever since I saw the movie Hackers in 1995 I have always wanted to become one XP. I would like a career as a full-stack engineer and I am on my way to doing so although I am self-taught and just starting out I hope places like this will help me get to where I need to go.

Hi there, I've been a public sector dev working for the DoD for about 5 years now using Ada and some C++. Really interested in moving towards a modern role in web development. Currently interested in going in an ASP.Net route so I've been going through some online courses as well as running through the Odin project. Trying to find an online community that can keep me on track and curb some of the stress that comes with learning new technologies and shifting careers.
