Made email from personal domain a month ago and it is blessing when you don't need to open 2-3 tabs in browser and log in to accounts. Also gmail is awfully slow and i prefer folder management with filters.
You find Gmail slow? For me it works pretty fast on personal domain.
I use gsuite/gmail with my domain and have no issues with speed. Works great across all my devices and syncs really quickly.
