I can relate with the last part, that's why I use to spend most of my working hours in coworking spaces before the pandemic hit. I guess there are two different aspects WFH and work for a company remotely, which gives you the power to choose.
Also, I wonder if some companies see this as an opportunity to lower costs (office, consumables, etc)
Definitely, however, I think for companies it may be a coin toss. Whilst there are lower office costs, companies may have had to spend more to set up their employees remotely & there may be the indirect cost if morale and efficiency of work is lower.
