Hi everyone,

My name is Robert. I'm technical but not "technical". I've done several startups, ran a technical recruiting firm and have interviewed thousands of people. Have also run a consulting firm focused on helping companies modernize, adopt microservices and model their existing and new systems. Currently, building a stable of SaaS apps with my very technical business partner. Because we know developers so well, we built a product that helps them to plan their day, focus and reduce interruptions. Would love to hear any feedback as to whether our solution makes sense for the dev community. pomodus.com/ Looking forward to being part of the community.

Welcome!

I looked at your website and the product sounds interesting although I didn't give it a try I have a few questions

  • Does it work on Linux? Apparently yes but it's not really specified.
  • Does it turn down notifications from your OSes (Android, KDE Plasma, etc)
  • I've worked with Pomodoro for some time and found it very impractical. I have hours long streaks that I don't want to break every 25 minutes but also times where I talk around and do nothing particular. What I found to be more efficient is to be goal-based. Cut down your work into incremental achievable tasks and work non-stop on that until it's done. Which coincides rather well with commits by the way. So, rather than fixed-length slots, something that helps you break down your tasks into a fine-grained todo would be more adequate for my workflow.
  • An integration with Toggl would be awesome

Thank you :)
