If you found value in this thread you will most likely enjoy my tweets too so make sure you follow me on Twitter for more information about web development and how to improve as a developer. This article was first published on my Blog
1. Engage with bigger accounts in your niche
This is the most important thing you can do at the beginning
Don't start by posting 10 tweets because no one will see them
Start by adding value with your replies to other bigger accounts from your niche.
2. Respond to everyone that engages with you
No matter how many followers the person that replies to your tweets has, respond to them
Form connections, answer the questions you get
People want to see that there is a human behind the account they decide to follow
3. Give value
If you want to build an audience you need to switch the focus from you to them
Share resources, respond to the questions you get, give tips, share your work
Tweet about whatever you want but make sure that you give value
4. Stop using hashtags after you reach1000 followers
Hashtags make you tweets look spamming
If you have more than 3 hashtags in your tweets 50% of the people that see those tweets will scroll through
Use at max 2 hashtags until you reach 1k followers
After that drop them
5. Share your wins/loses
People love and follow authentic accounts
Be like a real human, share your wins but also share your loses
Did you get that job? Tweet about it
Did you finish a new project? Tweet about it
You had a bad month on Twitter? Tweet about that
6. Be consistent
It took me 5 months to get where I am
During these 5 months, I posted at least once every single day
In the beginning, no one will read your tweets. It doesn't matter
Don't look at your analytics
Once you gain some momentum things get easier
The end
I hope found this useful and if you did please let me know. If you have any question feel free to DM me on Twitter .
