oracle virtualbox VM user experience improvements
- always install (& keep updated) virtualbox guest additons
- throttle cpu set execution cap to 85% instead of 100%
why the latter ? it seems daft !
because IMHO there is nothing worse than a frozen VM and although your VM runs slower at 85% it never appears to freeze like it does if is has access to the default setting of 100% CPU
why not try it and let me know if you can "feel the difference" !
tip
open 20 ff tabs or run npm update to instantly get to 100% utilisation
