it turns out that linuxlite isnt the pefect desktop distro for ex win 7ers :(

last week i posted https://dev.to/osde8info/what-is-the-perfect-dev-env-desktop-distro-for-web-devs-3gk3 but just remembered to check some of my old linuxliteos wordpress posts

old linuxlite problems
REDACTED

and found a new problem

  • linuxlite installs/uses leafpad instead of mousepad

so i feel i should downgrade its rating to 'almost perfect'

Hi Clive

Articles should not primarily be used for driving traffic to an article on another website. Please post the entire article here on DEV (if you have proper rights).

Thanks!

Posts that tell a story, how you tackled a bug, your experience with a technology etc are much more likely to get engagement from the community. It's completely up to you how you use Dev but not posting substantial content goes against the terms of use - dev.to/terms

Content Policy

The following policy applies to comments, articles, and all other works shared on the DEV platform:

  • Users must make a good-faith effort to share content that is on-topic, of high-quality, and is not designed primarily for the purposes of promotion or creating backlinks.
  • Posts must contain substantial content — they may not merely reference an external link that contains the full post.

Perhaps you could consider adding more to your blog post to tell the story of how you found the bugs, what you did to get things back on track and anything interesting you found along the way.

Links that support your experiences are more compelling than simply standing alone in such a short post.
