PERMUTATION AND COMBINATION - 2
Fundamental Principle of Counting. :-
- Fundamental Addition Principle of Counting. :-
If there are ‘m’ different ways of doing an even and ’n’ other different ways of doing same event ,m then the number of ways in which the event can be done is given by ’m+n’ different ways.
( Only one event is there )
Model - 1
There are two houses -house 1 and house 2, From house 1 to house 2 we have three ways to travel by train, with 4 ways to travel by bus and 2 ways by air.
Find total ways
The total ways to go from house 1 to house 2 = 3+4+2 = 9
In this case one event takes place only. ( only one event is there ).
This previous decision does not depend on others.
Model - 2
There are four boxes 1,2,3,& 4
Boxes has
1 - 5 different chocolate
2 - 4 different chocolate
3 - 3 different chocolate
4 - 2 different chocolate
IN how many ways a boy/girl can eat one chocolate.
Total possibility = 14
Because only one event takes place out of one event.
