Google launched a new SEO ranking system! The search ranking of 3 types of websites will be advanced

SEO is the key to determining the number of page views and the number of orders placed by customers. Good web content and user experience are the only ways to improve SEO. Recently, Google said that it will launch a new SEO ranking system in August. How should the page layout be configured to maintain a good SEO ranking in the new system?

Under the new system, the SEO rankings of the 3 types of websites will be higher

After we click on a webpage, sometimes we encounter a webpage that loads very slowly; or when the article is half-read, a pop-up advertisement pops up suddenly, and it cannot be closed by pressing the X above; or clicking Going back to the previous page, I found that the webpage was not running smoothly. The new system of SEO is to solve this kind of problem.

Under the new system, if two web pages are identical in other respects, the faster the inbound speed, the less browsing interruption, and the better the search ranking of the website that allows users to get the information they want will be higher. Google incorporates these three indicators into the core indicators, which are listed alongside loading experience, interactivity, and visual stability of web content as Google's user experience evaluation criteria.

The new system has the greatest impact on the SEO ranking of websites in the media and publishing industry

The new system is bound to affect the search rankings of existing web pages. However, Barry Schwartz, CEO of the New York-based Internet company RustyBrick, said that the overall impact may not be significant, because before generating search results, Google will make decisions based on hundreds of pieces of information, and the web browsing experience is just one of them. Relevance is still the most important metric, according to Schwartz, "If you have a slow page, but it has the highest relevance, it will outperform a site with a better browsing experience."

But Asaf Shamly, chief executive of Israel-based advertising technology company Browse Mobile LLC, said it's relatively rare for Google to release such a big user experience update. Shamly warns that this update will have the greatest impact on the media and publishing industry because they value advertising revenue. Advertisements often appear on web pages, and rankings are bound to be deducted. However, most e-commerce companies already know the impact of the browsing experience on shopping intentions, so they have already put in the effort to optimize their web pages, and the degree of impact should not be great.

3 Principles for Optimizing SEO Rankings Under the New System

In this regard, many media and publishers are adjusting their web pages, and Google also released a video offering 3 suggestions for optimizing SEO:

1. Use HTTPS

Basically, any web page that uses HTTPS will pass Google's security checks.

2. Mobile friendly

In other words, the web page needs to be RWD (Responsive Design Web Design). If not, also make sure that when the page opens, the content scales to the correct size, making the text legible and the links easy to click. Also, remove obsolete software such as Flash.

3. Avoid pop-up ads

In addition to being interspersed with advertisements on the webpage, avoid pop-up advertisement windows; in addition, do not place advertisements after clicking on the webpage, and require the user to close it manually. It's just that messages like age verification, cookie usage notices, and messages requiring users to pay to log in are not limited to this.

Google's new SEO system will inevitably affect the ranking of web pages and affect the operations of some operators. But for users, the new system can reduce the interference of advertisements, increase the speed of web page loading, etc., which will help the experience of browsing web pages.
