Do we have any book authors here? ✍ (got one question)

So like in the title, I'm really curious if we have some book authors here.

I've started writing recently with a vision to publish it after its done, but I'm a newbie in this topic and would rather avoid some wasted effort, just because I didn't ask someone more experienced for tips ;p

So if you have written a book and put it in amazon kdp etc, do you have some tips on things I should do or avoid?

I would also love to hear what you have written :D

I would love to reboot my writing gig. I had some obstacles along the way that made my self-confidence vanish, but now I'm on the path of rebuilding it.

About the writing process and the aftermath, I don't know, maybe it's different after 10+ years? For example, I was invited to write a book because I already had a blog and wrote for another IT news site. At that time, self-publishing in digital wasn't so easy. Also, getting references and someone to review wasn't so easy. Today, any AI can do it (but don't write using AI, please - make your book have soul).

Getting user reviews was almost impossible. I just learned two years ago, when I was creating a new portfolio, that my book had a 2nd edition and has 4,6 stars on Amazon 🤷🏽‍♂️

(this gave me a new idea for a post 🥷🏽)

Yeah of course, AI is good fore facts only, and maybe explaining some concepts. But anything AI generated doesn't have a soul like you mentioned.

I would suggest starting by thoroughly researching the process of self-publishing a book. Amazon KDP is a great place to self-publish, but there are other platforms like Smashwords that are also worth considering. Previously, I couldn’t do anything on my own; at school and university I used essay writing help, found ca.edubirdie.com/essay-writing-help for this. But over time I started reading books, then more and more. 2 years ago I realized that I was ready to write something myself. But I didn’t get any sales, unfortunately. What I've learned is keep practicing, improve your skills and don't be afraid to share your work with the world.
