So Long Dev.to, Hello Hashnode

πŸ˜πŸ‘‹πŸ½ This is a very short and sweet goodbye but I have decided to migrate my blog over to Hashnode.dev for a few different reasons. Here is where you can find my Hashnode Blog

1. I'm rebranding.

I'm no longer the Full-Stack Developer I use to be. I've been busting my butt over here. I enrolled in a specialty school early this year and I'm learning and building some pretty advanced stuff as a Site Reliability Engineer.

2. I am honestly not digging the vibe on Dev.to anymore.

I feel like my blog usually gets minimal recognition. I put a lot of work into my blogs, and I believe that they should have better resources on here for non-famous devs and people who are just starting out.

3. The interface.

Hashnode.dev has a lot more features than Dev.to imo. My followers can even subscribe for future updates sent directly to thier emails. I love the UX/UI on HN and I feel like I will be able to represent my brand better with their platform. (Sorry Dev.to)

4. Lack of monetization opportunities on Dev.to are disheartening.

I really wish there was a way for the people writing these posts to make money. I had one post reach over 25k readers here. But alas there is not. At least on HN I can build my own email list. I can then work really freaking hard to create awesome digital products to peddle in the future. (more on that later)

5.Β The ability to easily push out multiple blogs on one platform.

Again HN comes out on top here.

πŸ₯² So to my followers here on Dev.to, I will soon start posting on Hashnode instead of on here.

I will work harder there to create better content more aligned with my current goals and truthfully more aligned with my life long aspiration to work in the aerospace industry. I encourage you to checkout what I have in store over there. (I am litteraly begging for alms)

I will be blogging my way through a lot of SRE topics like: my journey as an SRE student at The Agile Learning Institute, having my first SRE job (which I have now), my journey to getting a job in the aerospace industry (launching soon 🀞🏽), what it's like to design and think through architecture, technologies I am learning, studying for exams (how do I do that?), anything military and defense tech related (especially NASA and SpaceX stuff), stargazing and more.

If any of this interests you in the slightest, I encourage you to join me over at my new blog: "Engineering the Stars: A Journey Exploring Tech & Aerospace". I hope to see you all there...

tschuss... Ad astra per aspera. πŸš€
