2019 is coming to its end, and it was really good. I learned a lot of things this year and did a lot of adventures, landed my first job in an amazing startup, earn some money by writing articles(I didn't think of that before) and created an online presence.
I'm Aashir Aamir Khan, you can call me @justaashir. I'm a teenager, started learning almost 2 years back on my own. I didn't know anything about web development before, I used the computer only for games before(as most of the kids!) but got curious about learning something about computers and earning something through it. As a self-learner,
I didn't know much about anything. I was moving to different languages every day if someone said to me that "Learn MS Excel" and I started learning Excel. one other day someone said
"Learn Photoshop", I started learning Photoshop and I was just mingling around for six months then I did a lot of research and finally decided to finally pivot to Front End Web Development and this decision was great. I almost read 1000 articles on "How to learn web development"(I still read them, just to check out!). I learned HTML, CSS and lots of theoretical things('Tutorial Rut').
then Peopleperhour and then at last fivesquid and wasted almost 4 months of my life.
I was too bad with my skills, too but you know(Over Confidence!) but all of this experience helped me a lot now, and now I know a lot about Market that what's up and down and what people are paying money for(Wordpress Ssh!). I left all of this and came up with a decision that I'm not going to go to freelance market places again.
I realize that it's time to make an online presence, I used Facebook(Shit!) for Online Presence in the developer community. almost 4 months ago, I created a twitter and learned to use it, and it was great.
I started my blogging, just for fun. I found DEV on twitter and it was a turning point for me.you can read about it here,
- I'm part of an amazing Startup now
- Companies are contacting me to market their products by writing for them.
- Got 8000+ followers on DEV in just 3 months, 110,000+ views and 1700+ reactions
- One of the Top 500 Authors of DEV
- I know where I'm going
I read about it when @emmawedekind
posted it :
Then I decided that my next year's goal will be getting into the Top 500 Authors list, and I will do some real hard work for it and when I was going to sleep at night, I opened up my Gmail and found out that I'm already one of the Top 500 Authors. I was really shocked by this, Thanks DEV.

Aashir Aamir KhanI didn't have any teacher from the start:
- it helped me to become a better debugger (otherwise I would ask teacher other than solving it myself).
- My Stack is not really competitive to the market but my research skill made me unbeatable.
