Hosting websites for clients?

Hello all! I'm super new to development, currently a student with Woz-U. I'm trying to build a portfolio and I've gotten pretty deep into building a website for a friend's business, but I can't stop thinking - what about when I'm done? I'm looking for advice on how to publish websites for clients that don't own anything already. I'll take anything you guys have to give me - etiquette, host recommendations, any help welcome!

I would recommend, if you aren't willing to maintain a website for the foreseeable future, that you help your friend using a website builder like Wix, Mailchimp or as you mentioned its a business something like Squarespace or Shopify etc using an off the shelf solution. As then they can maintain and update it themselves, otherwise every little change will need to go through yourself.

If you do want to manage and maintain it all yourself for a long time, I would look at Cloudflare Pages, Firebase Hosting and Vercel

It's awesome that you're diving into web development! When you're done building the website, you'll need to get a domain and hosting to publish it online. For clients who donโ€™t own anything yet, you can help them purchase a domain through sites like Namecheap. For hosting, managed hosting services are great because they handle a lot of the backend maintenance for you, making it easier to focus on the site itself.
