Hi! I am a Cloud Native Engineer at Container Solutions, helping global companies become cloud native.
What is Cloud Native?
The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) in it's v1.0 definition states that:
Cloud native technologies empower organizations to build and run scalable applications in modern, dynamic environments such as public, private, and hybrid clouds. Containers, service meshes, microservices, immutable infrastructure, and declarative APIs exemplify this approach.
These definition puts a spotlight on clouds, containers, microservices, etc.
Cloud Native is a relatively new field and members of the community have been asking the golden question:
What is Cloud Native?
In the Honeypot Kubernetes documentary (Part 1 and Part 2), the early engineers on the Kubernetes project explained that
The CNCF was founded in 2015 after the release of Kubernetes documentary has since evolved. and that definition did not sit well with everyone.
This question led to the creation of a newsletter from Container Solutions titled "WTF is Cloud Native".
Members of the cloud native community kept asking, what is cloud native … (might complete this post later)
