Microsoft and Google are set to open an AI war

Microsoft and Google are about to face off in a fight for the future search. Microsoft will be revealing plans to add OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot into its Bing search engine at a press conference later today. Google tried to prevent the news by making an announcement yesterday to introduce Bard (its rival to ChatGPT) and promising more details about its AI future at a press conference on Wednesday.

These announcements set the tech giants, who are known for their past skirmishes, on a collision course, as they try to create the next generation in search.

Both companies want to create a new type of search engine: one that displays short, simple answers from AI rather than a bunch of boxes and links. Google teased yesterday its Bard chatbot with queries that look similar to OpenAI ChatGPT. Microsoft will add a ChatGPT-like interface to its Bing search engine, which is expected to answer questions in a way that no other search engine has.

These more human-like answers could revolutionize search. ChatGPT was developed by AI company OpenAI and brought conversational AI into mainstream. If the Bing integration works properly, it can save hours of research, spreadsheets and coding.

Microsoft launches a new A.I.-powered Bing homepage, which you can chat with

According to a leak, Microsoft may be close to showing ChatGPT within Bing and making it publicly available for users to try. This is an ambitious move that, if done well, could put serious pressure on Google after years as the search leader. Microsoft’s rapid commercialization and adoption of OpenAI models by Microsoft will not be welcomed by Google’s bitter rival. However, it will be remembered for the power of Bing’s chat capabilities. ChatGPT has been a popular choice for web users, despite Google’s years-long efforts to improve its AI capabilities.

ChatGPT may have a competitive edge over ChatGPT as it is today. ChatGPT uses GPT-3.5 as its language model, but Bing’s chat functionality may use the yet-unannounced GPT-4 model. With many entertaining speculations about the model’s parameters, which have become memes, the AI community continues to speculate on how powerful GPT-4 will actually be.

A December report by The New York Times showed that Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin were reportedly offering advice to Google executives over ChatGPT’s success. According to reports, Google founders Larry Page (Sergey Brin) have been offering advice to Google executives. They also pitched ideas in a way that is unprecedented since they left their daily jobs in 2019.

Google’s answer to this question is Bard. Bard is an AI chatbot created using Google’s LaMDA technology. This technology is similar OpenAI’s GPT series AI language models that power ChatGPT. Google claims it will open Bard’s chatbot to more people in the coming weeks.

Sam Altman, OpenAI CEO, confirmed that Microsoft had incorporated some OpenAI’s GPT 3.5 language technologies into Bing in order to enhance its capabilities.

There you have it. Microsoft uses OpenAI’s GPT technology to boost the new and improved Bing. ChatGPT, however, is not being used to supercharge the new and improved Bing. The functions are still very similar.

_Altman stated, “I feel like this has been my dream for 20 years. I’m so happy that it’s finally here.”

Microsoft has just unveiled a new AI-powered Bing homepage. It features an expanded chat box that can answer questions beyond factual ones.

The new Bing can;

ChatGPT allows you to answer questions with lots more context than ChatGPT.

Itineraries can be created for trips. For example, you could ask it to “Plann a five-day trip in Mexico.”

It is possible to continue asking the same questions. You can ask more questions if you continue to plan a trip.

Nadella promises a “new paradigm for searching”

Nadella spoke about some of the work that the company is doing in AI, specifically search.

“And so, we want you to see some of the innovation, starting with how it will reshape search, the largest software category in planet earth, something I have been working on for a while and which we are very excited to do.

Nadella said, “It’s an entirely new day in search, it is a new paradigm of search, and rapid innovation will be coming.”

_Nadella spoke about the “new copilot experience”, which refers to AI tools’ ability to perform tasks for workers using “an all new Bing search engine” and “an all-new web browser.”
