What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT, an AI chatbot system by OpenAI, was released in November to demonstrate and test the capabilities of a large, powerful AI system. It will answer your questions with a variety of useful answers.
You can ask it questions such as “Explaining Newton’s laws of motion.” You can ask it to write a poem and then say, “Now make it more interesting.” It will write you a computer program to show you all possible ways to arrange letters in a word.
ChatGPT isn’t a computer expert. ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence that recognizes patterns in large swathes of text from the internet. Then it’s further trained with human help to deliver more useful and better dialogue. OpenAI warns that while the answers you receive may seem plausible and authoritative, they could be completely wrong.
Chatbots have been a topic of interest for many years, both to companies that want to assist customers and to AI researchers who are trying to solve the Turing Test. This is the famous “Imitation Game”, which computer scientist Alan Turing created in 1950 to measure intelligence. Can a human conversing directly with a computer and tell which one is which?
Chatbots are not without their limitations. Many companies have tried to use them to assist customers with customer service, but they have had limited success. Ujet, which uses chatbots for customer service, conducted a study with 1,700 Americans and found 72% thought they were a waste.
ChatGPT was created by who?
ChatGPT is Open AI’s brainchild. Open AI is an artificial Intelligence Research Startup Organization whose mission it is to create an AI system which is both safe and beneficial.
GPT-3 can create text that sounds human-like and DALLE (a generative AI tool) can create AI art/digital pictures from natural language descriptions.
Let’s now look at how ChatGPT works. ChatGPT is a large-language model that uses GPT3/GPT 3.5 as its foundation. This AI tool uses machine learning algorithms to analyze large amounts of text in order to respond to user’s requests with language that is surprisingly human-like.
OpenAI claims that ChatGPT improves its capabilities through reinforcement learning. This relies on human feedback. Human AI trainers are hired by the business to interact with the model, while simultaneously playing the roles of both a user or a chatbot. ChatGPT trainers evaluate the quality of responses and compare them to human replies to enhance human-like conversation approaches.
ChatGPT to Replace Google as “Answer Engine”,
ChatGPT allows you to ask questions and get prompt answers. Google often provides links to relevant websites to users as well as suggested answers to user questions. ChatGPT answers often surpass Google’s recommendations because it uses the most up-to-date AI algorithms.
ChatGPT users must verify the authenticity of ChatGPT answers before they can trust them. ChatGPT uses raw text, which is unlike Google. This makes it difficult to verify the accuracy of its answers. ChatGPT is making progress and Google is building large language models on its own. It also uses AI extensively in its search algorithms.
ChatGPT may seem a little farfetched to replace Google’s answer-engine, but it is clearly showing the way.
