What are some examples of a failed for-profit startup successfully open sourcing its code and finding a community to adopt it?
I know of a few companies starting out as open source and then starting a for-profit company after (like gatsbyjs.org && gatsbyjs.com, but what about the other way around?
Asking for a friend 😉

“Failed” would be the wrong word, but one of my favorite services from 2014/2015, Parse, went OSS after FB bought it and shuttered it.
Judging by the GH repos, it’s still got people using it github.com/parse-community/parse-s...
