What is Contemporary Art?
I searched the internet for "contemporary artist" and "contemporary painter", and got literally dozens of results, containing painters, photographers, sculptors and other kind of visual artists.
The selection I present here is purely a matter of my personal taste. Chances are I forgot some important artists, as I'm software architect, no art expert.
Quoted from Wikipedia:
Contemporary art is the art of today, produced in the second half of the 20th century or in the 21st century. Contemporary artists work in a globally influenced, culturally diverse, and technologically advancing world.
And now, let's dive right in. The order is inverse alphabetic (sorted by last or family name), for a change.
Zappa, Frank
More known for his (sometimes strange) music, Frank Zappa makes for a stunning Yoda...
Yokoo, Tadanori
Witt, Solomon Le-
Wiley, Kehinde
Warhol, Andy
Walker, Kara
Ting, Walasse
Takano, Aya
Street art
Stella, Frank

Graubner, Gotthart
Goscini (and Uderzo)
These artists invented the Asterix comic strip.

Again, no artist, but a relict of a political movement.

British Upper House
Ooops, another one that does not represent a single artist.
