Professional : My morning got super busy. A lot of my team lives in Europe, so I log in and see a few messages to start my day. I looked over and commented on some correspondence that will be going out to talk about one of our products. Did a PR review of some code for a blogpost. Did my own pull request for some updates to the documentation I did yesterday. I had an issue with the thing I made not showing up in the side navigation. When I did my PR, it created a test deployment and it was in the side navigation. Cool. May have been a local caching issue. Helped out with a Community question. Then I worked on refactoring some code for a tutorial. Basically fix one issue, see where it breaks, fix that and repeat. haha.
Personal : Last night, I was able to get video from my webcam to an invited user of the site. I had to refactor some things but was able to reuse a lot of stuff from the HACO portion of the site because it uses the same technologies for the most part. On the user side, I was able to add a preview section where they can make sure the audio and video (if they want) is working properly before joining me. I still have to get the video chat layout worked out and add screen sharing. Took longer than I thought due to mostly thinking through how I want to pass data around. Learning quite a bit which is a reason why I do these projects.
Really need to get the video chat stuff done tonight. Still have to work out the broadcasting of the video and other stuff around that. I'm thinking this is the last large section to get done. Other stuff are things that are nice to have by the deadline, but not really critical. Can always add later. We'll see. Will probably be a late night / early in the morning situation. Time to get at it.
