What was your win this week?

Happy Friday!

Looking back on your week — what was something you're proud of?

All wins count — big or small 🎉

Examples of 'wins' include:

  • Starting a new project
  • Landing a new job
  • Enjoying the sun/snow/rain (I'm from Portland, Oregon; enjoying the rain is actually something we do here 😆) ... or whatever else might spark joy ❤️

Celebrate those wins!

Not a cat
Sounds just like something a cat pretending to be a lawyer would say... 🤔

I just landed a job as a full-stack developer after a year of learning and practicing.
I have my second child due soon so the timing couldn't be any better! I get to work remote doing what I love, living the dream.

Please point me to resources you referred to. I want to switch from sales to development. I have degree in commerce.

The Odin Project - basically a free path into full stack development. I would recommend trying to spend 2 hours everyday, build as many projects as possible, and constantly be learning (you shouldn't have a choice anyway).

Josi. Thank you so much. I will reach out to you if I have any doubts. By the way what web technologies have you mastered.

I wouldn't say that I have mastered any as I have only been working a year and I haven't had a day where I don't learn something new. But, I can build something pretty well with React, Node, WordPress, and php.
This is the result of working for at least 2 hours every single day after deciding to start.

Once you try it, you'll never want to type a password again. 🤓🤓🤓

I wanted to do it since I was 10 years old, so it's a MASSIVE win for me this week:

I've released my first book!

I'm so proud and grateful, I had a lot of support from everywhere and everybody seems to like it. That's crazy! I thought three people would be interested by that... and then ask for a refund 🤣

Published my ebook titled 100 Page Python Intro. There are many books for complete newbies to programming, but very few for those already familiar with basics and looking for a quick guide. So I wrote one and learned a lot in the process.

I just uploaded the last article in my series about running machine learning in Python 1.6 on a NeXT computer emulator:

What's really exciting about this is that it's a side project that I've actually finished!
