I've been on the job hunt for a few months. This week I accepted an offer for a full time role on a team I am really excited aboutπ π
Congratulations Christina, I'm also looking for jobs/freelance work right now. π€
My greatest win of the week is starting my journey into this dev world! It is the most excited I've been about a career-changing decision. It is the first time ever that I've written a blog and the first time putting myself out there . . . and it feels good! Thanks so much to the Dev team for allowing me to use your platform to share my progress!
CONGRATS, Lynne! Your cousin, @chrisoncode 's tweet welcoming you to the platform was so great, too. DEV is all about supporting programmers along their journey and encouraging shared-learning β but it certainly doesn't hurt to have a supportive FAMILY too :)
I published my first post on dev.to π₯³
Would love to hear people's feedback!

Thanks dude πββοΈ
π First Post! Keep Going.
Thanks buddy πββοΈ
Woohoo!
My talk "Deep dive into Elixir" for ElixirConf was accepted! It's the first time I'll be speaking at a conference. So definitely excited also very nervous! Any speaking tips would be greatly appreciated!
Yay! That's so cool! I believe I remember you saying on social media that the most recent CodeLand was the first conference you attended, right? Or am I totally imagining that?
Great memory! I've been to other conferences, but this was the first distributed conference I've attended. I wasn't sure what to expect, but so happy that I went. I know Elixir Conf is also going to be remote, so hope it has the same community feels.
Ah ok, gotcha! The differences and similarities between IRL and distributed conferences sure are interesting. We're happy you attended also! Hope to read your thoughts on speaking at Elixir Conf here on DEV :)
I'll definitely write a blog post! Thanks for the encouragement.
Received my first ReactJS and JavaScript badge award from @devteam for my recent blog post
It inspires me to write more blog posts βοΈ and share my knowledge.
π Fantastic work, those are some hot badges to collect!
Thanks
I submitted my first image to the DigitalOcean Marketplace and it got accepted! You can now create Laravel Droplets with 1-Click!
Nice! I already used it actually :D
That's awesome! Happy to hear that you've already tested it.
I've submitted a new version with a small fix but let me know if you notice any problems in the meantime!
I just got 129 hearts on one single comment! Thanks to this awesome community!! β€οΈ
π Looks like it got you a beloved comment badge, if you didn't already have it.
I already had that badge, but never that much positive feedback for a comment π
Pumped out 5 posts this week! Here are my two favorites.

I've loved reading these posts this week!
π Thanks for all of the shares BTW. It means a lot to get the notification that I was mentioned in a thepracticaldev tweet!
Thank you!!
I reached 10000 views mark on Dev.to & It's awesome π€©
I'm so glad to be part of so much supportive and inspiring community π
Happy you're here!
My win this week I have shared on Indie hacker for my project building Eleventy Themes. ππ
I made a simple URL Shortener with NodeJS and ReactJS, I enjoyed building it a lot! Here's the link, by the way: Shmag.
very cool, I tried it out, works great.
Thank you!
I gave constructive criticism of the latest episode of a podcast I listen to (it was on a subject I've focused on pretty intently for the last year+) which, in hindsight, could have been taken much differently (text is dry, especially since my email was a freaking Tolstoy novel).
Instead, one of the hosts emailed me back thanking me, admitted that they were in a rush and winged it without show notes, said I'd be getting a shout-out in the next episode, and asked if I'd like to be a guest doing another episode on the subject!
This is an awesome story.
I was planning to release this flask boilerplate since a very long time and now it is live. Finally, got the motivation to write about it this week π

Feels good to have contributed to opensource community π β€οΈ
I started to earnestly dive into NES game development (in assembly)! I've been reading, taking notes, and working on recreating the game Pong!
I also reduced my time on Twitter and IG last week, and have been steadily replacing that time with books π
I just finished my Bachelors Degree, and my senior project was building an NES game! It is really fun, and I'm not quite finished with my game. How are you finding Assembly? My background is primarily web development, so it was a pretty huge (and challenging) departure for me.
I really like it, tbh! I think it's cool to talk almost directly to the computer. Assembly is a lot different than what I'm used to as well (LISP languages); it's challenging for sure, so I'm just taking it one step at a time. The community is welcoming, and the content they produce is so unique: their passion is really infectious and it pushes me to keep going π
In the end I wrote
