Fed up now and not willing to change my old fabulous computer for a new one with all those security stuffs that I see as being a hidden attack on my privacy, preventing me to do things I want with my property. My pseudonym is a reference to Lake Retba which has always been fascinating to me (maybe I will visit that place once before I die, it would be nice).
I have always been interested in coding and played around with code snippets for as long as I can remember (I tried to learn Visual Basic when I was 9 years old, but to be honest, I did not get super far). I did build a few simple Websites with primitive HTML and CSS, and a tiny bit of PHP, over the course of the next decades, but nothing too fancy since I only ever scraped the surface and never really "learned" anything from scratch (just fumbled around and tried to make things work somehow, without understanding why).
Recently I turned 40, and I really would like to finally have a proper job at some point. I love logic and rational deductions, so I started learning with the Odin Project (about 3/4 done with the Foundations Course now). Let us see where this takes me in the future!
Looking forward to all the things I will learn! So far, it has been a lot of fun.
