I'm Martin, and I worked as a Senior Front End Architect and Engineering Manager at some of the world's largest digital agencies, where I led Front End Teams for international projects. After 15 years, I quit my job. Now I travel the world as a professional scuba diver, work as a freelance Front End Tech Lead and technical Recruiter for international clients. Besides that, I write about technology.

My latest book about The Complete Developer will be available from No Stach Press mid-March. It's an easy, hands-on introduction to creating web applications with Next.js, MongoDB and Mongoose. You can read more about how to become a published author in my upcoming article about writing books.

Quick tip: you can create comment templates which you can set up for responses that you use frequently. For instance, I have a number of quick tips which I've set up as comment templates so that I can regularly drop them into these welcome threads and this is one of them. 😉

To set your templates up, just navigate over to /settings/extensions and follow the instructions under the heading Comment templates.

To use your templates, you'll need to click into the comment input box, click the ... menu, and click the icon that looks a bit like a book. You'll then see all your available responses.

I have worked with many things in the past, but recently I worked as a Freelancer developing WordPress websites internationally, having delivered 1,000+ projects in less than 1 year. My initial plan was to gradually stop working with WordPress and work only with JavaScript and the latest frameworks, such as React. But I needed to take a break to focus on other goals, such as studying to work in the public sector in my country, as I could no longer find opportunities to work in the private sector. However, as soon as I pass in a public tender, I intend to return to my studies with JavaScript.

Hey, I am Kristofer, a full stack dev passionate about decentralisation, new forms of governance and a lot of other things.

Currently I am doing lots of work building open source projects for the Internet Computer (ICP) blockchain. On ICP you can run smart contracts (canisters) built with Rust. A canister has access to true randomness, up to 96 GB of storage, can keep encrypted secrets, can do HTTPS calls and much more!

I just posted my first article here on dev.to, a short piece for beginners about publishing static websites to ICP. The example used is a simple personal blog built with Astro.
