The breadth and depth of things that are to learn about in software development can be overwhelming. I say this not to discourage ya, but rather to let you know that you're not alone in this feeling. The good news is it gets better — if you stick with it your skills will grow, you'll find supportive people that want to assist you, and I know it can be super rewarding!
All this said, I'm not a dev personally, but am a Community Manager for DEV... so, if for some reason you find out that software development isn't for you, there are other ways to get into this industry and make a positive impact.
