Wait a minute, haven't we been down this street before? That's right, we have. But, this time around I've decided to laz...

Ooh! Perfect timing!
This weekend I seen The Creator on cinema, and I loooooooove this music by Radiohead.
I recommand to see the movie πβ
Oooo yeah, good suggestion Thomas! This is one of my favorite Radiohead tunes.
I know it was also shared in the Vanilla Sky soundtrack... I really wanna see The Creator and I'll be looking out for it in the movie.
2 interesting facts about Radiohead and soundtracks:
They were offered the option to soundtrack the movie Fight Club but turned it down... from what I've heard, they really regretted that decision.
They were commissioned to write the theme for the James Bond movie Spectre and they wrote a freaking amazing song that was actually rejected by the producers. Check out the video below that explains the story behind it all!
As much as I am not a fan of the direction he has gone in recently Sam Smith's theme for Spectre was π₯
Oooo hell yes it is. If they're gonna turn down Radiohead, I'm glad they at least went with a damn good theme in place of.
Oh sad to know that! I go listening more Radiohead!
The soundtrack of "White Nights" (1985) is very good. Excellent movie. I was reminded of it the other day when the title song of the movie, Lionel Richie's Academy Award winning "Say You, Say Me", was on the radio. Ironic though that it is not on the soundtrack due to an issue with Richie's label not wanting it on a competitor record label. Even without it, the soundtrack is fantastic.
White Nights is a 1985 American musical drama film directed by Taylor Hackford and starring Mikhail Baryshnikov, Gregory Hines, Jerzy Skolimowski, Helen Mirren and Isabella Rossellini. It was choreographed by Twyla Tharp. The title refers to the sunlit summer nights of Leningrad, the setting for the majority of the film, situated just a few degrees below the Arctic Circle.
Oooo this sounds like an interesting one! I'm loving all the different artists here β Phil Collins, Robert Plant, Roberta Flack, Chaka Khan, Lou Reed... what a wild and awesome mix! I'll definitely tune into this one... gonna have to look up the film too!
The film is great. Fantastic acting by all of the leads: Baryshnikov, Gregory Hines, Helen Mirren, and Isabella Rossellini. Great dancing from Baryshnikov and Hines. At times, the use of music is almost like another character (e.g. using it to hide conversations from the Soviet security detail listening in on everything). Mid-80s cold war drama.
Last time around, I shouted out Kate Bush's "Running Up the Hill" and the pivotal role it played in Stranger Things...
This time around, I wanna shoutout a few complete soundtracks that I've found particularly cool over the years. So, here goes!
I'm a huge fan of Wes Anderson and absolutely love the soundtrack for The Royal Tenanbaums... I remember buying the CD back in high school and listening to until it became scratched to hell and unlistenable. I love quirkiness of the Mark Mothersbaugh compositions and how well they fit the film + all the awesome 60's & 70's tunes mixed in.
My fave from it is probably "Wigwam" by Bob Dylan:
Gotta love the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack, especially how it's interluded with little clips of the faux radio station host introducing different songs. "Little Green Bag" might be my favorite on the album, but I gotta give a mention "Stuck in the Middle with You" by Steelers Wheel because of how well it worked for the ear scene (if you don't know what I'm talking about, check out the movie, but be warned it's violent):
Lastly, O Brother Where Art Though's soundtrack is another one of my all-time faves. The songs on this album are just so fitting for the film... it definitely captures the old-timey tunes of the period. Also, if you haven't yet seen the movie, it's phenomenal! One of my faves from it is the cover of Skip James' "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues" deftly performed by Chris Thomas King.
A few other great soundtracks I'd like to call out are Daft Punk's soundtrack for Tron: Legacy, Prince's soundtrack for Batman, and all soundtracks by John Carpenter (possibly the only director to score his own films)... all of these are awesome!
Oppenheimer and ATSV's Soundtrack for sure!
OOoo nice! π
When I saw the pink Spotify window following the Oppenheimer suggestion, I automatically expected it to be Barbie, haha. Media has conditioned me to pair the two together I reckon. π
Now, I gotta tune into that Oppenheimer soundtrack. Ludwig GΓΆransson is freaking awesome... I love this little short that shows him scoring The Mandalorian:
It's also super cool that he frequently collaborates with Childish Gambino, aka Donald Glover.
This is probably the first spanish song I've ever heard... I knew this from the Money Heist (La Casa de Papel) series
This is a really cool song!
I love how it builds and the drums are super unique. Also, strange but very enjoyable music video. It's kind of mesmerizing... loving the odd and very well-coordinated dance moves, haha.
I've not seen Money Heist and don't know if these clips are from the movie, but I'm interested...
For work, my go-to soundtrack is Clint Mansell's repetetive soundtrack to Moon.
Here's a sample:
Oooo alright, alright... second recommendation for Moon in this thread. π
I had not heard this before but just tuned into your suggested sample and I love it! It's moody, ethereal, and really beautiful. And wow, I can't believe I haven't seen this movie either... love Sam Rockwell and it looks interesting!
I'm def gonna have to listen to more of the soundtrack, this is right up my alley. Thanks for suggesting it!
Hmmm...thinking off hand it would either be Dead Presidents or the Rocky 4 soundtrack.
Hot damn, I had no idea about the Dead Presidents soundtrack... this is awesome!!!
It brings the funk & soul!! Curtis Mayfield, Sly and the Family Stone, The Spinners, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Isaac Hayes, Al Green... what a damn lineup.
I've only tuned into the first track "Right On" and I'm loving it. It kinda reminds me of a certain Prince track called "Born 2 Die" from the posthumous album Welcome 2 America. Hope you dig this one!
I'll check out Rocky 4 later on today fasho!
@michaeltharrington no problem. Those are rotated depending on how I feel. I did forget the Purple Rain soundtrack. Thanks for posting Prince.
Time from INCEPTION by Hans Zimmer is my best movie soundtrack for working.
Too many to name but I've always loved the Moon soundtrack, it captures the feeling of space so well.

Nice!! Just saw this suggested elsewhere in thread and I'm on it! Tuned into a sample and I'm loving it.
Itβs October, so this is in heavy rotationβ¦
The Crow
Best movie Evah:

Lol, this is wild!! Is that really David Hasselhoff singing on top of a synthwave tune? Also, what the heck... these visuals are awesome. I need to see this movie!
On a somewhat similar note, I love the movie Turbo Kid and really love the soundtrack for it. I think you'll dig it too!
Also, not really soundtrack-related but the video and vibes definitely remind me of Irving Force. Check out this video/song:
I've just found about a group called "Men I trust" and is perfect for some chilling on hell code. Pretty cool and relax
Super chill! I dig it. Good suggestion, Christian! π
You ever listen to Mac Demarco? Some of his tunes kinda remind me a bit of this.
Saw "Anatomy of a Fall" the other night (really great film BTW), which features this rather special version of "P.I.M.P" very prominently:
Ooooo hell yeah, this is a great spin on P.I.M.P ... loving the steel drums dinking out the main melody. It works so well! If the rest of the tracks are anything like this, I'm so down.
Might have to check out this movie too... hadn't heard of it and it seems really well-liked from ratings.
Engineering Colony VI 'Cadwell's Reach' Kepler-62F (4 Hour Ambient)

Ooooooooooo yes, I'm all about the ambient mixes like this! I love the visual for this one too.
I'm thinking you might enjoy digging through some of my suggestions in a previous Music Monday, the Strange Edition... maybe I'll make an ambient edition soon for folks like us that enjoy this kinda music. π€:
I frequently go back to Brian Eno's 1978 album βAmbient 1: Music For Airports"... it's so nice. It really helps me focus and stay relaxed while doing work.
And if you like ambient or generative music, I have a few YouTube musicians I'd recommend:
