2 interesting facts about Radiohead and soundtracks:
They were offered the option to soundtrack the movie Fight Club but turned it down... from what I've heard, they really regretted that decision.
They were commissioned to write the theme for the James Bond movie Spectre and they wrote a freaking amazing song that was actually rejected by the producers. Check out the video below that explains the story behind it all!

The soundtrack of "White Nights" (1985) is very good. Excellent movie. I was reminded of it the other day when the title song of the movie, Lionel Richie's Academy Award winning "Say You, Say Me", was on the radio. Ironic though that it is not on the soundtrack due to an issue with Richie's label not wanting it on a competitor record label. Even without it, the soundtrack is fantastic.
White Nights is a 1985 American musical drama film directed by Taylor Hackford and starring Mikhail Baryshnikov, Gregory Hines, Jerzy Skolimowski, Helen Mirren and Isabella Rossellini. It was choreographed by Twyla Tharp. The title refers to the sunlit summer nights of Leningrad, the setting for the majority of the film, situated just a few degrees below the Arctic Circle.
Oooo this sounds like an interesting one! I'm loving all the different artists here — Phil Collins, Robert Plant, Roberta Flack, Chaka Khan, Lou Reed... what a wild and awesome mix! I'll definitely tune into this one... gonna have to look up the film too!
The film is great. Fantastic acting by all of the leads: Baryshnikov, Gregory Hines, Helen Mirren, and Isabella Rossellini. Great dancing from Baryshnikov and Hines. At times, the use of music is almost like another character (e.g. using it to hide conversations from the Soviet security detail listening in on everything). Mid-80s cold war drama.
Last time around, I shouted out Kate Bush's "Running Up the Hill" and the pivotal role it played in Stranger Things...
This time around, I wanna shoutout a few complete soundtracks that I've found particularly cool over the years. So, here goes!
I'm a huge fan of Wes Anderson and absolutely love the soundtrack for The Royal Tenanbaums... I remember buying the CD back in high school and listening to until it became scratched to hell and unlistenable. I love quirkiness of the Mark Mothersbaugh compositions and how well they fit the film + all the awesome 60's & 70's tunes mixed in.
My fave from it is probably "Wigwam" by Bob Dylan:
Gotta love the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack, especially how it's interluded with little clips of the faux radio station host introducing different songs. "Little Green Bag" might be my favorite on the album, but I gotta give a mention "Stuck in the Middle with You" by Steelers Wheel because of how well it worked for the ear scene (if you don't know what I'm talking about, check out the movie, but be warned it's violent):
Lastly, O Brother Where Art Though's soundtrack is another one of my all-time faves. The songs on this album are just so fitting for the film... it definitely captures the old-timey tunes of the period. Also, if you haven't yet seen the movie, it's phenomenal! One of my faves from it is the cover of Skip James' "Hard Time Killing Floor Blues" deftly performed by Chris Thomas King.
A few other great soundtracks I'd like to call out are Daft Punk's soundtrack for Tron: Legacy, Prince's soundtrack for Batman, and all soundtracks by John Carpenter (possibly the only director to score his own films)... all of these are awesome!
Oppenheimer and ATSV's Soundtrack for sure!

It brings the funk & soul!! Curtis Mayfield, Sly and the Family Stone, The Spinners, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Isaac Hayes, Al Green... what a damn lineup.
I've only tuned into the first track "Right On" and I'm loving it. It kinda reminds me of a certain Prince track called "Born 2 Die" from the posthumous album Welcome 2 America. Hope you dig this one!
