Running through November 24, the AssemblyAI Challenge is all about innovating with human speech by building with the industry’s most powerful and accurate Speech AI models.
There are three prompts for this challenge with three opportunities to win!
Our Prompts
Sophisticated Speech-to-Text
Build an application that shows off the power of Universal-2, AssemblyAI’s latest and most accurate speech-to-text model. Formatting? Proper nouns? Timestamps? Universal-2 does it all.

Really Rad Real-Time
Build an application with a real-time experience by utilizing AssemblyAI’s Streaming API to convert live audio streams into text synchronously. You can transcribe all sorts of things – conversations, meetings, events, and more – what live interactions will your app elevate?

No More Monkey Business
Use LeMUR to build an application with a LLM-powered feature on top of Speech Data. You can search, extract insights, generate summaries, and more. How will LeMUR take your app to the next level?

Judging Criteria and Prizes
All three prompts will be judged on the following:
- Use of underlying technology
- Usability and User Experience
- Accessibility
- Creativity
The winner of each prompt will receive:
All Participants with a valid submission will receive a completion badge on their DEV profile.
How To Participate
In order to participate, you will need to publish a post using the submission template associated with each prompt. All applications must be deployed using AssemblyAI models to qualify.

- It will give you access to all product offerings for the $50 free credit (includes Real-time and LeMUR). If you go straight to this step without being logged into your account, you will have to add funds to the account.
- Enter credit card details. You will not have to add funds to the account.
- Start building with the $50 free credit across all of our offerings!
Note: each participant can receive $50 in total credit, regardless of how many prompts they work on.
