Thank you. Yes, I think a lot of us could benefit from the "kill your darlings" approach. If the user doesn't need it, then delete it! :) My writer friends often cite that quote, so thank you for the reminder @michaeltharrington .

But it's still hard to remove it or to say goodbye to the hours it took to build the thing. That's why I'm hoping this thread will help others come to terms with "the loss" of the investment.

I know that it's a lot easier to part with a project if I maintained good work-life-balance while it was being built. I was mostly only ever sad to see "a darling" go if I had worked on it during nights and weekends.
