So to push myself a little, I took the plunge and registered for Itch/GitHub Game Off 2019.
Looking at the Godot open source engine/game dev platform ATM, and it's more like Godot is waiting for me...

Godot is excellent. Once you get used to the node system and UI it's so intuitive for game dev. Good luck!

But yeah I liked what I saw in Godot.
