So, you’re going to be joining the upcoming Cheetah Dash cohort? Here’s what you need to know to get ready.
1 - What exactly is a Cheetah Dash?
The Cheetah Dash is designed to be a solution to Tutorial Purgatory and a way to level up your skills.
Here's how it works: you join a small community of developers pursuing the the goal of building as many projects as possible for 1 month.
The Mission? Defeat Tutorial Purgatory, build projects
We know how easy it is to get lost in watching tutorials and feeling like you're being productive… only to find that you've completed several courses but haven't actually applied your skills.
Put simply: the purpose of this challenge is to push you out of your comfort zone and build / finish projects.
🔥 meet new coder friends from around the world
🔥 accelerate your developer skills
🔥 be pushed out of your comfort zone
🔥 finish projects!
How it works:
- Build as many projects from start to finish over a 1 month period.
- Document your journey by writing an article or blog post after each project.
- Do the above while surrounded by like-minded developers from around the world for one month with the same goal as you.
Fun fact: the Cheetah Dash is a revival & remix of a program Chingu used to run! (and was originally designed by the creator of the p1xt guides 🔥)
So, what's next? What can I expect?
Super friendly and supportive community
In your cohort you can expect a super friendly/supportive community of developers. You'll be able to share resources / knowledge and help keep each other accountable.
Get out of your comfort zone
Let's also not forget: you will be challenged to level-up your skills and actually finish projects. This is not a tutorial where you can lazily follow through. This is the antidote to tutorial purgatory.
Yes, it will be frustrating at times. Finishing projects is not easy.
Confidence & a shiny portfolio
You can also expect that if you show grit, you'll come out with shiny new projects for your portfolio. You will also have
What the Cheetah cohort is not
The Cheetah cohort is not a program for team dev projects. We offer that in another program called Voyage. Feel free to join that program at https://www.chingu.io/.
The Cheetah Dash will involve collaboration, but that collaboration will revolve around motivation, support, code help and pushing each other past our comfort zones.
Ok, cool. How can I prepare?
