How to create AWS account for free?

Yes, I agree this is the simplest information that is available on the internet on how to create an AWS account creation. As my first step into content creation, I am planning to start with this and try to share my learning journey in AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate. This was also my first topic I had chosen during AWS Voices program (will share more details).

To create an AWS (Amazon Web Services) account, you can follow these steps:

  1. Go to the AWS website: Visit the AWS website at https://aws.amazon.com/
  2. Click on “Sign In to the Console”: In the upper-right corner of the page, you’ll see a yellow button that says, “Sign In to the Console.” Click on it.
  3. Click on “Create a new AWS account”: On the login page, you’ll see an option to create a new AWS account. Click on it.
  4. Provide your email address: Enter your email address and choose a password. This email will be associated with your AWS account.
  5. Fill in your account information: You’ll need to provide some basic information about yourself, including your name, company (if applicable), and contact information.
  6. Enter your payment information: AWS requires a credit card or debit card to verify your identity and to bill you for any services you use that are not covered by the AWS Free Tier. You will not be charged unless you exceed the limits of the Free Tier or use services that are not covered by it.
  7. Verify your phone number: AWS may require you to verify your phone number by receiving a call or SMS with a verification code.
  8. Choose a support plan: AWS offers different support plans depending on your needs. You can choose between Basic (free) support or various levels of paid support.
  9. Read and accept the AWS Customer Agreement: Make sure to read the AWS Customer Agreement, and if you agree to the terms, check the box indicating that you’ve read and agree to them.
  10. Complete the sign-up process: After you’ve entered all the necessary information, click on the “Create Account and Continue” button to complete the sign-up process.
  11. Wait for confirmation: AWS will send a verification email to the address you provided. Follow the instructions in the email to verify your email address.
  12. Log in to your AWS account: Once your account is verified, you can log in to the AWS Management Console using your email address and password.

That’s it! You’ve successfully created an AWS account. You can now start exploring the various services offered by AWS and build your projects on the platform.
